Ah, Kevin Pietersen. An absolutely First-Class cricketer.

    Unfortunately he's also a First-Class cock.

Yes the side may be weaker without him but it's surely got to be a more harmonious place without his sniping.

„I believe in socialism because it seems more humanitarian, rather than every man for himself and 'I'm alright jack' and all those arsehole businessmen with all the loot. I made up my mind from viewing society from that angle. That's where I'm from and there's where I've made my decisions from. That's why I believe in socialism“

Graeme Smith retires from international cricket. That is Swann, Pietersen and Smith the Aussies have seen off in the last four months.

Fully agree with Vaughan here - Using the word mental and nut case completely undoes the hard work many have put in to raise aware of it. Fucking prick Trott is.

    What a narrow-minded opinion.

Clearly depression is going to affect your performance in any sport, particularly one as psychological as cricket.

Yeah but he's said he wasn't depressed and didn't want people to think he was a nutcase?

Do you want people to think you are a nutcase? Not sure what's wrong with that comment by Trott.

Whether it was depression, stress or anxiety - all of which are hardly mutually exclusive problems for those who suffer them - he needed the help of a psychologist to recover. Clearly he was in no fit state to play cricket and needed to go home. Vaughan seems to think there's a physical test you can do for depression if you haven't passed that then you've got no excuse and you're just crap at cricket. If he was crap then he wouldn't have been in the team, so clearly he had other issues affecting his performance.

I read it as him not wanting people to think he was suffering from any type of depression just a bit in form

It was like staring at a computer screen and not taking in what you are reading. I was watching the ball as hard as I normally do, but wasn't seeing it the same. I was putting myself under pressure.
I was just emotionally and mentally spent by the time we got to Brisbane.
It got to the point during Brisbane where I wasn't sleeping during the Test, I didn't feel physically well. I was having constant headaches for five days in a row.
I shed quite a few tears telling my dad, who was coming to the second Test in Adelaide, which would have been my 50th Test, that I'm not going to go because I can't do it physically and mentally.
That sounds a bit more serious to me than a batsman failing to get guard his legside stump.

Michael Vaughan's comments are ignorant at best. Maybe Trott understood what was happening to him and where it would lead to, and decided to do something about it before it became worse. If he can return to his job a better person then good for him, I don't think any less of him for looking after his mental health at the supposed expense of the team.

I think they're both wrong in the wording. Both are ridiculing mental health issues.

Exactly. Vaughan's gone down in my estimation with this - what right has he to feel 'conned' or otherwise about someone's health issues. Can you imagine Millwall's manager saying he felt conned when Neil Harris missed a year with his cancer treatment?

Vaughan does seem to open his mouth without thinking.

He was maybe expecting Trott to tell the world he was feeling worthless and like it would be better if he wasn't around? If he talked like that, Vaughan wouldn't be feeling 'conned'. Maybe Trott doesn't think Pat Murphy or the Evening Standard are the ideal people to go through everything in detail with? He doesn't owe Michael Vaughan or the public details of every dark thought so we can decide if we deem his suffering valid.

Talking of which I was bowled around my legs in indoor cricket tonight. I couldn't believe it. You cannot be LBW, so you stand in front of the stumps. It is very difficult to get bowled, but I managed it tonight. I had to ask the keeper why he was shouting. I thought he was claiming caught behind or stumped, neither of which he would have got. He had to tell me that I had been bowled. I am still confused by it a couple of hours later. I also hit one that would have been seven had it not struck the non-striker on the head. In the end I was very nearly caught off his head. We lost too. Semi-Final. Bad day at the office.

When spoken, the name is the “three-a County Ground”
    Surely it's either "three-ay-ay-ay" or "ay-ay-ay ay-ay-ay ay-ay-ay"?

    Do they serve Castlemaine 4xxxx?
