Default My first Forest game v Blackpool April 6th

Forest have been my English team as a boy but at the age of 35 I am finally coming down for my first Forest game in April against Blackpool.

Looking for any help as to what are the best pubs to go to around about the ground for pre/post match drinks, ideally somewhere that may show ESPN as my scottish team Hearts are playing Ross County live on ESPN that day (I know, that will be one for the neutrals to get excited about) If I can't get a pub with ESPN its no problem but I would prefer to go to a pub with a football atmosphere.

Apologies if this is posted in the wrong area, if so can the mods move it

    Cheers for any help

You could have a nice pint with Tartan Tart Ups in the Nav pre match, he likes a football team from Edinburgh too so I'm sure you'll get on swimmingly

By "relegation battle", do you mean 7th, 12th or 14th?

There are many pubs and bars within easy walking distance of the City Ground Jambo.

The Trent Bridge Inn, a Wetherspoons house, is one of the most popular. It also has screens showing satellite games, though whether they'd show a SPL match I don't know.

The Southbank, located on the CG-side of Trent Bridge, is also very popular and has screens, as does The Larwood & Voce beside the cricket ground.

I hope you have an enjoyable visit wherever you end up.

The Southbank is the most likely to show a scottish game on a couple of their screens I would have thought. the others probly wouldn't especially if it clashes with an EPL game.

The Sportsman's Club directly outside the main gates will definitely have the game on.

Get down here for 9 > go waterfront for beers and full british isles breakfast > town square > old trip and children for a couple > taxi to the ground > couple in southbank and hubble > hot roast pork cob with apple sauce and crackling from the shop just up the road from the club shop > game > navigation for a few beers.

    Pretty much my ideal saturday

Please give me an idea of the location of the Waterfront. I plan a season ticket next year and am looking out for suitable stops for victuals.

Waterfront is by the canal in the cluster of bars almost opposite the train station (right out the main exit, cross over, walk a bit and down to the canal on your left)

You should, it's a great place to have a pint especially in the summer. Sometimes invaded by away fans though.

    Jambo, Hearts fan?

Used to like watching them (albeit on tv) back in the Robertson, Colquhoun, Levein era. That was a great team. Gorgie Boys

Seeing mention of Scots football, did I see Kris Boyd gone to Kilmarnock?

Cheers for the feedback guys, sportsmans club or the southbank will be our likely destination pre match then. Really looking forward to coming down and hopefully seeing Forest continue with their push for a play off place.

Bridgford - Yup big Hearts fan, what I wouldn't give to have some players of the calibre of Robertson and Colquhoun right now, unfortunately we are skint with our very existence in doubt and having to rely on kids which is showing with our league position this season

Valspoodle - Boyd has went back to killie for the rest of the season, good signing for them as he is proven in the SPL and will score goals for them.
