Afterwards I thought maybe I should have done something, but at first I thought it was a couple messing about. Besides, not worth getting shanked over a tin of Quality Street is it.

Missus bought a Himalayan Salt Lamp today, I thought what a load of bollocks, but the thing does chill you out at minimum. Gives off a glow like a coal fire or camp fire.
Not sure about any of the other stuff like giving off negative ions, cleaning air etc. But having said that I know a bit about hygroscopy from damp proof surveying, so it’s quite plausible that it does more than just light the room up.

Anyone else got one or tried one?

Salt lamps do not give off, or at least not any more than naturally occurring negative ions, there's no scientific proof they do.

If you want negative ions, buy a ionization machine.

Naturally they're created by radiation, like the sun or smashing water, like surf or a waterfall, you know the smell after proper cats and dogs rain in the summer, that's partly the negative and positive ions, the air is "charged". Whether they're part of feeling better or it's just locations, emotions, the fact it's stopped raining etc can't be proven.

Its pseudoscience but if it helps you then fair play. Just beware, like most stuff it's marketed to make you spend money.

If you like the glow, nice.

If you’re expecting it to do anything else it’s chemically impossible.

    Oh FFS.

Went to customer services and spoke to the lady there, explained the situation she said to take a seat and she'd sort it.

Got a hotdog whilst I waited and hadn't even finished it by time my stuff was out. The lady came over and again apologised and gave me a 15 pound voucher. I asked her what that was for, she said "for not shouting at me" I said "why would I shout at you"? She said that she'd "been on since 4pm and that's all people had done"

What is wrong with these people, it's a bit of chipboard with laminate on it, in the grand scheme of things why get so irate to the point to make an individual feel the need to reward someone for being normal?

Welcome to retail Barry, I give discounts to my customers because they are so nice to me. I get yelled at by customers on a daily basis, it wears on you.

    It ain't just retail though.

In the UK, yes, I would agree.

„I believe in socialism because it seems more humanitarian, rather than every man for himself and 'I'm alright jack' and all those arsehole businessmen with all the loot. I made up my mind from viewing society from that angle. That's where I'm from and there's where I've made my decisions from. That's why I believe in socialism“

We've just had an email thanking us for a job we did. Customer says the service and attitude was really old-fashioned.
    Which was nice.
At least I think it was!

Oh, Germans are quite able to form the most orderly queue you’re ever likely to see; it is just that they would prefer not to have to do so, as such things are of course terribly inefficient!

I'm sorry, but I'm calling bullshit.

If that level of service and attitude had been reached your thank you note would have been delivered on the finest parchment paper known to man, by carrier pigeon!
