Default The Farce that is the Premier League

It really must class as one of the most ill-balanced farcical leagues in World football now.......there are 8 teams with a plus goal difference making up the top 8 and guess who they are........yes, Man U, Man C, Chelsea, Spurs, Arsenal, Everton, Liverpool and the only surprise, Swansea.

This is SO SO boring now.....zzzzzzzzz

The money has concentrated at the top. In England, only Chelsea or the Manchester clubs are ever going to win it for the foreseeable future.

In Spain, it's Barcelona or Real Madrid.

Italy is Juve or one of the Milan clubs.

France is a little more open, but PSG are trying to buy the league.

Germany is often Bayern plus anyone who can string a run together; Dortmund have done very well recently as have Schalke and a couple of others.

The other problem is the consolidation of money in the so-called "Champions League". As long as the same old clubs earn extra money from that, they can attract the better players (many of who would sooner take millions to sit on the bench rather than play for a lower ranked side) and it means other teams will never, ever catch up!

    Money has indeed ruined football.

To much analysis over every decision over and over again. Newscorp and its subsidiary Sky tv have not only ruined the premier league but English football in general. Aren't monopolies supposed to be illegal in this country.

I ruined football when I didn't recognize "Psycho". Sorry.

Anyhow, I honestly think Liverpool are a few players away from being able to compete with the "big three". Rodgers is adding intelligently and building something. Sturridge and Coutinho were both great buys. Reina must go, he is shit. Which actually means he must stay.

I fear if given patience then Rodgers will indeed turn Liverpool's fortunes around. Hopefully the typically low levels of patience at scousepool will see that he's sacked before he has the chance.

To be fair Everton were relegation candidates 10 years ago, Spurs were midtable, Liverpool are back to finishng 8th and 7th like the early prem years and City and Chelsea are title contenders compared to the prem 10 years ago lot has changed!!!

I know, all those incredible players and brilliant goals every single week; it's a disaster and I for one won't stand for this sort of thing. We'll be far happier watching Birmingham and Derby every week eh?

Point taken, but Birmingham or Derby could be promoted next season, or they could be relegated, or they could finish mid table. That's what makes the Championship more exciting that the Premier League in my opinion. Most Prem teams you could say now to within a few places where they'll finish not just this season but next.

    Seven of same top ten.

    Same leaders.

Arsenal would be the same but for money of Abramovich and Mansour.

    Liverpool and Everton the same.

Odd good season without winning anything for Newcastle - like last season.

Spurs top ten for years, Redknapp moved them on to top five.

The Premier League is a bore-fest

    So predictably dull

Only teams with billionaire owners or massive world-wide fanbase can hope to compete

We need to bring back competition at the highest level. Maybe wage caps or some kind of draft system for players would prevent the current monopoly

To think people used to laugh at Scotland for being a two horse race!

Until this season when Scotland became a one horse race.
