Too early to judge McLeish but woeful start.

Just got to assume he knows what we need in the transfer window (wingers, centre back, left back and maybe a striker) otherwise we'll be treading water until Summer and the decision to remove SOD will look as stupid as it actually was.

Fawaz might have to get back on his knees to get Sean back if my worst case fears are realised.

    ^ Agreed.

We need to try and stay sensible for a while and see what pans out. We have little or no control over things other than giving our support when we can.

Erik...you do realise you're talking about the LTLF collective here.....

By "relegation battle", do you mean 7th, 12th or 14th?

    Your spot on.

Doesnt mean we cant cast a critical eye over his start though being as the previous manager was sacked for not winning more than 2 games in a row

SOD's critics I'm one but I wanted him to stay where does that place me its all about perspective and we all need to get some Fawaz is not a tin pot chairman I suspect hell stay with McLeish at least till next season, I think its clear to all that SOD was not first choice and the owners wanted a bigger manager than him. Its a very poor start for AM but this is not his squad. January is big for everyone at the club and I hope they get signings in pretty quickly. I feel sorry SOD but hes gone we have ol ek and maybe today is eye opener for him cause he said if it aint broke why fix it well I think now AM will thinks its broke and some fixing is gonna needed we can now only hope that he fixes the right things.

The thing is I struggle to see how a new manager can be as aware of all the issues both on and off the pitch (players who don't geton/work well together, players who don't put 100% in) as a manager who's essentially built the squad over the plast 6 months?

I also wonder if the players moral and attitude may have been decimated by signing for a club which sold one philosiphy and direction, but then made a U-turn on it and removed the man who wanted to bring them here.

Because every game O'Driscoll was in charge of was a beautiful display with loads of shots on target.

Maybe not, but every game McLeish has been involved in has resulted in a 3-0 hammering.

Under SOD we have played woefully away from home. You have to go back to October for the last time we had a genuinely solid away-day performance. They seemed to have been getting worse too, and today was essentially a continuation of that.

Whilst the Al-Hasawis seemed like sensible guys with the best interests of the club at heart when they first arrived, I was still a little cautious that somewhere down the line they'd lose patience as foreign owners tend to do; maybe a bit prejudice there but you see how things are with most clubs abroad, and we've seen them take over clubs in this country's leagues and the mentality hasn't been much different.

So whilst it wasn't entirely a surprise that S'OD got the boot you can't help but feel frustrated about that loss of 'stability' we'd been craving, and despite some fans seeming as impatient as our owners and making claims of martyrdom, we were hardly doing badly with a new squad and had earned some very good results. We're having to either start again or take 5 steps back with a guy I for one don't have a lot of confidence in, and one with different traits to S'OD, so I'm not surprised with this kind of result, but we'll see.

The players and fans wanted S'OD, and (most) appreciated we needed time and needed to do things in a certain way, but it's the owner's club and they clearly know better eh? I can see dark times ahead personally http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZYB3yyu0UrQ

Why not sell our lot and buy Leicester's team?

We were (supposidly) under Davies too, and look what your beloved McClaren did there.

Remember the rules have changed...............SOD was not the iconic premier league manager to take us forward, also in general terms, a new manager does generate a ''bonus bounce'' as the squad seek to at least, give a favourable show about themselves to the new man . Hate to imagine what it will be like in a few weeks.

Well as McClaren had a full pre-season with the side to get his thoughts across, it is a completely invalid comparison

Guy Moussi made a telling point in his interview after the match.

Including John Pemberton, he has now played under seven managers in his time at Forest.

    Seven. Not much consistency there!

„I believe in socialism because it seems more humanitarian, rather than every man for himself and 'I'm alright jack' and all those arsehole businessmen with all the loot. I made up my mind from viewing society from that angle. That's where I'm from and there's where I've made my decisions from. That's why I believe in socialism“

2 games are nothing to go by, we had bad spells under SOD that lasted longer. I was a fan of him and I wasn't too keen on the new man coming in but I'm not making judgments now it is way way too early.

We got a good point against what has turned out to be one of the best sides in the division and we have lost to a side that arguably has one of the best squads in the division. Granted their owners have caused them so many problems but all the same that talent is there maybe this caretaker is doing something right and simply getting the best out of them?

Who knows it is a bad result today but the nature of the championship is anyone can beat anyone. Peterborough have beat Cardiff and so have Charlton and they are the best side in the league against sides I would be a lot more disappointed to lose against than Blackburn.

The form remains the same come the end of the month you have a case, right now though there isn't one.

Even cotterill started better than McLeish and he *insert violins here* was allegedly dealt a bad hand with a goal to purely avoid relegation....
