    Default Marlon Harewood

i have seen someone writing on every thread about transfers that we are re-signing Marlon for 5.5 million! but is there any truth in this?? i would love him to cum back and partner Earnshaw but if the rumour is true do we really need to spend 5.5 million??

Expecting a bit much to pay over £8m for a foward line in the Championship wouldn't it?

It depends whether Samuel Eto'o accepts our contract offer. Harewood is Plan B along with Eusebio.

Marlon is defiantly a realistic target, some people may laugh, but are we going to just consolidate or actually go for promotion?

This is crazy talk. He would not leave Villa to come back here and take a massive wage cut to play in the Championship.

He is signing for us on loan for a season with a view to a permanent deal in the summer. This will only hapen if we get promoted though.

    Do i him then?

I presume there is a "know" in there so no I don't but I believe that he will favour the money as he did previously and stay at another Premiership club.

Does this mean the Thierry Henry deal is no longer happening?

As much as I would love it, it still does not make any sense.

    Sauce of this information?

Can't see it happening, I'm sure his wages are well above what we're willing to pay, if he leaves Villa then I really expect to see someone like Fulham/Wigan/WBA grab him.

As far as I'm concerned if Titus Bramble can play in the premiership nothing in football has to make sense to be true!

Oh by the way i made it up

i rate this as slightly realistic.

he signed for aston villa for 3.5M but has hardly got a game, reducing his value to about 2.8M. His wages are probably 30k a week where as our highest is probably earnshaw on about 15k a week. if we are doing well next season and he cant get a game at villa, i see no reason why he wouldn't come in on loan, he comes to a few of the games and lives nearby

he was on 20k a week at derby, he would hardly take a 13,500 pay cut.
