No. Not sure if it was greed, ego or a beef at Barcelona. But they are very different characters.

Neymar has since recognised his mistake anyway. They haven't been close to winning the CL, and the rest of it nobody is watching. May as well be in China or Scotland.

Kane will top score at the Euros in the summer on front of a home crowd. Going back to another season playing dreary football at Spurs won't be that appealing at that stage of his career unless he thinks Mourinho is going to win to title.

It'll be like Shearer in 96. Teams will watch him scoring for fun in the Euros, and be prepared to break the bank.

Madrid have been chasing him at least since England beat Spain in the Nations League according to Balague. And they've been linked Pochettino for years.

How is that anything unique to modern football though.

Kane couldn't lace Ronaldo and Messi's boots, not in a million years. Pro and amateur imo.

Make a great pairing with our Grabban though.

Much as I dislike how the Spurs' Board have gone about this, and how much I dislike Mourihno, I can understand the thinking.
The parallels between Pochatino and his achievements, and Wenger and his latter years are there for all to see.
Wenger made a big impact on joining Arsenal, and won a few trophies.
Then, despite playing decent football at times, Arsenal became 1-dimensional and never looked like winning trophies on a regular basis.
Pochatino has done much the same apart from actually winning any trophies, and if left in position I reckon it would be like the Arsenal years again.
Mind you, Arsenal made a massive mistake in replacing Wenger with someone who appears to be Wenger MkII - and Arsenal still look like they will fail to win many trophies.
In appointing Murihno Spurs are taking a massive gamble, but if it pays off maybe "The Special One" will lead them to glory.
    Somehow though, I doubt it.

The thing about Spurs is that it’s no longer the old Danny Blanchflower „the game is about glory“ stuff anymore, for them, with the massive investment they’ve made in a new stadium, they need money to pay for it, and that means Champions League football every season.

Daniel Levy is renowned as a financial wheeler dealer and he’s done the maths clearly to see what issues missing-out would cost Spurs.

„I believe in socialism because it seems more humanitarian, rather than every man for himself and 'I'm alright jack' and all those arsehole businessmen with all the loot. I made up my mind from viewing society from that angle. That's where I'm from and there's where I've made my decisions from. That's why I believe in socialism“

Got rid of Poch because he wanted investment, only to replace him with Maureen? Roland Orzabal was right.

Mourinho is carving out a niche for himself as the Big Sam Allardyce for big clubs.

I think the most relevant question now, is will we see a novelty Christmas record fron Chas & Jose?

"Aint no Pleasing You" would be quite apt for Jose

I see reports are already emerging that Jose won't get any money in January. Saving for July? Stories engineered by Jose and his agent? I like a good drama and we're going to see one now, just don't let him talk too much.

That's the team that Ranieri built, wasn't it?

By "relegation battle", do you mean 7th, 12th or 14th?

You think losing the Champions League final affected the Spurs squad?

Mourinho: "I don't know because I never lost a Champions League final"

    He's back.
