Our own old boy Viv Anderson has some interesting things to say about the weekend‘s banana throwing incident in the North-London derby:

„The revolution will inevitably awaken in the British working class the deepest passions which have been diverted along artificial channels with the aid of football.“

You wouldn't know he'd played for Forest, reading that

By "relegation battle", do you mean 7th, 12th or 14th?

West Ham & Newcastle can expect all they want, they are bog standard mid table clubs that will never win anything.

If Allardyce was doing the same job Rafa is doing now, playing the same style, everybody would want him out.

Hodgson has had a pretty good career.

Never understood why the fans of those two clubs seem to expect anything more than being mid table. Absolutely nothing in their history suggests that they should expect anything like challenging for Europe or winning trophies. Mid table should be seen as perfectly acceptable by those clubs, with anything beyond that being seen as a bonus.

Ralph Hasenhuttl appointed as Southampton manager. That's a quality appointment.

I watched a lot of Leipzig when Burke first went over and he had them playing some great stuff.

The only reason he left at the end of last season was that he got fed up with the constant speculation linking Julian Nagelsmann with his job.

Regular readers will remember, Nagelsmann has actually accepted the Leipzig job, but starting next season, so he remains at Hoffenheim for the current campaign.

Hasenhuttl is a quality coach though, no doubt about that.

BBC Radio London commentators on Fulham v Leicester

"Captain Wes Morgan... or Captain Morgan you'd call him, if that's not a little rum"

    Nice punnage

Lacazette tried a Gary Crosby tonight. Nodded the ball out of De Gea's palm, put it in and ran off celebrating.

Chelsea lost at Wolves. A Chelsea slump between now and Jan would make the Cup door more interesting.

Crosby has his name etched in the annuls of football history for that one. Dibble's reaction was priceless.

As for yesterday's match lock-less Fellaini getting hair envy against Guendouzi also gets an honourable mention.

I hate to say it but Liverpool look exceptional this year.

I don't think I could stomach it if they won the league; do your duty, City.

No way will Liverpool win it. To put things in perspective before today's game it was Liverpool's best ever start to a season, which when you consider the dominance over the 70s and 80s is quite impressive. And yet they were still 2 points behind City.
