Default The Guitar thread -Not sponsored by Samuel.

As the 'I've just' thread is all about guitars at present perhaps those that have an interest in them could have their own thread so here you are fill your boots.

    Thanks Spaceman!

I do love the telecaster. Can't believe that I've just got one after 6 years of playing.

Everything on mines standard, don't really want to change a thing yet!

Have had a Beast and a Warlock from BC Rich in my time. Always found them to be ridiculously head heavy, though.

Mo Farah can play the banjo. He played Walking on Sunshine at his brothers 40th birthday party last week. It brought the house down.

I've never had the pleasure of playing a guitar with Duncans in, I don't think.

Heres my baby and absolute favourite guitar I've ever owned or played.

    An Epiphone EJ200.

No idea why all these pictures are going sideways? Bloody forumrunner!

    I personally can't use Ibanez's.

They just feel cheap and tacky, don't know why but they just feel poor quality.

I've owned a Low end Ibanez (ART 120) For a couple of years and it's served me well.

I Guess it's all down to personal preference.

another Guitar i've been looking at is the Jim Root Telecaster.

I've always loved the look of a tele but due to me being a metal guitarist i've never bought one.

I've heard that the Jim root tele is pretty good.

I've never liked Telecasters. I just can't get on with the shape to be honest.

I love the shape of a tele, I like the blockness of it.

My friend has a Modern Telecaster Plus which has a contour on the back like a Strat which makes it very comfortable.

Cool to see fellow Forest Fans with Tele's and BCR's!

I've got a bad guitar habit
Been playing 20+ years, built a few myself and repair guitars for local shop.
    Currently own:

    USA Fender Telecaster
    1964 Fender Jaguar
    Fender Jag-Stang
    Squier JM Sig Jazzmaster
    Acrylic Series BC Rich Mockingbird
MIJ Flying V (not sure what make)
    Epiphone Dot
    Squier Deluxe Stagemaster
    Parts built Esquire

Use an Orange Tiny Terror head and cab, and cant stop buying Effects Pedals.

I am never that big a fan of after market pickups in a good quality guitar. The only Duncans I ever used were a set of Antiquities in a MIM Strat and yeah they sounded great but better than a set of original Fenders from the 50's not sure...............cheaper though. I also fiited a set of Fender repro 50's to a MIM Strat and TBH they blew the Duncans away, superb for doing the Buddy Holly stuff.

The only aftermarket makers I have any real time for at the moment are Bare Knuckle, I have a set of their Peter Green out of phase pick ups fitted to a Vintage lemon drop LP they sound superb I have aslo sent some of my vintage stuff to be rewound there and they do an imaculate job of scatter winding.

I guess I am too old to change the habbits of a lifetime now I always think of these guitars as a bit sort of the 'wannabee' end of the market which is probably totaly unfair bot that's just me. I started in metal bands back in the seventies and can still turn a trick or two on old skool metal and when I do there is only one guitar I turn to and here it is.

This guitar is a totaly standard Gibson LP Studio from about 1994 and I don't think there is a better metal guitar.

That is a pretty sexy Les Paul.

Not as nice as mine though.

Does the edge of the body dig into your forearm?
I had this problem with the Esquire, after one gig I noticed blood on the guitar and my arm was chaffed so after that I wore a large wristband
