    Sorry Jimbo, only messing.

I'll post a pic of a Bass I'm really enjoying the look of at the moment, a Burns Sonic. I'd love one of these.

    More thud, less woof.

Talking of basses - does anybody want to join a crap "indie" band on bass. Minimum commitment required (just turning up every now and then would be better than the last Bass player) Practise at Pirate in NOttm every 3-4 weeks, couple of gigs a a year. Original ( or unoriginal ) stuff played

Failing that, where can we find a bass player lol

    Sad.

Gibson should be untouchable, they helped pioneer modern music along with other companies.

It's like pulling an historic listed building down.

Been run badly though and outpriced a lot of potential users.

Their quality control has also tanked of late too.

Hopefully Gibson will survive in some form.

The real trouble they've got is that all their stuff worth the 1k pricetag was made from 150 year old trees, and since the 90's they've been trying to flog guitars made out of far younger trees for the same price. Not to mention embracing gimmicks such as the self tuning guitar.

I've played many a Tokai in the £5-600 range which played, felt & sounded as good as a modern Gibbo.

Their older guitars will be fetching even more money as time goes on.

PRS did a lot to heap on the problems for gibson too, a quality manufacturer with very reasonable prices
