For crying out loud.
Do you really hate Forest that much, Nigel?
He did? Cotterill? But Clough also remembers the role Cotterill played in keeping the Reds in the Championship last season before he was sacked in the summer.
Cotterill brought some stability back to Forest after he replaced Steve McClaren in October 2011.
Apart from a very strong performance at Leeds, he brought more heartbreak and agony, really.
I dont get it, in the article Clough states ""I don't think you could pick a better person for Forest in this situation than Sean,"
It doesnt come accross that he hates forest? Just that he thinks Cotterill did well to keep the club up, and that SOD is the best man for the job now.
More petty journalism, I guess. Headline: Nottingham Forest owe a big debt to Steve Cotterill, says Nigel Clough
Article: Well, you have to hand it to O'Driscoll.
Is there a school for football journalism somewhere?
Clough's time at Derby may be running out and if he's bigging Steve Cotterill up then their board should consider him as a suitable replacement.
In fact don't Derby want a manager who can do a job "on no money"? Cotterill's the man for them and no mistake
Nigel wishes we had kept that knacker Cotterril becasue we would be going into Sunday's game with a strike pairing of Tudgay & Varney, and regarding tactics then even NLN could outwit Cotterril.
Seems I get the match live on Norwegian tv. Whoop for me.
Watched the last couple of games, and I thought the first half against Charlton looked very good.
The Leeds match, less so.
It seems the only football management trait that Nigel has inherited from his dad is the inability to say nothing at all.
Big game for the Sheepshaggers (and us) on Sunday, local press wanted a quote. He has nothing positive to say about the quality of his team so he talks about Forest. Take it as a compliment.
Is there some kind of charity to make that happen?
Agree wholeheartedly with NLN on this. We owe Cotterill a huge debt. I shudder to think what state the club would be in now if he hadn't kept us up.
Nigel is stirring a bit, nothing wrong with that if it upsets the opposition and takes their focus from the game. First bit of good management I have seen from NLN. That said, I don't think it will work in this case because SOD by far as the better footballing managerial brain, not to mention dignity and I fully expect him to say nothing much and let the game do the talking.
So Nigel thought Cotts did a good job. I tend to agree. He (maybe with SOD's help) made the right moves at the right time at a club in complete turmoil. I can't understand the massive enmity towards him. He had courage - not only did he face the opposition teams but also a fairly vociferous minority of Forest fans.
Cotterill is up there with the worst manager we have ever had. He didn't do a good job. He came in October, he took us into a relegation battle.
NLN thinks Sean is the right man for Forest...
Yes because Sean actually has the necessary coaching badges to manage at this level.
I saw Nigel shopping in Sainsburys at the Wyvern centre today. True story.
No he was at customer service trying to get a refund on somthing . I don't know what it was . All I heard the assistant say was. "sorry we can't accept that as a return , you need to return it to where you bought it from"
NLN then and gave a sorry look towards Tyson who was with him.

He was trying to return Tyson? No wonder they wouldn't accept him.
I have very little against Nigel Clough. He was a great player for us, and when he went, we lost a lot of how we played. But there seems to be an animosity about him still about Forest. I just don't get it. Yeah, the old board did treat Brian badly, but both Clough jr and sr are club legends in every way. Nigel was my favourite player when growingup, and we shared the trait of having absolutely no pace to speak of.
I guess it is petty and small-minded of me, but I just want him to feel the same way about the club I love that I did about him as a player.
My late father was a journalist for 50 years and when he started it was a hard graft and a long journey to The London nationals. He started in Dundee before working in Glasgow....after 7 years got a plum job in the smoke...now it's a case of get your degree and become the next Bob Woodward or Carl Bernstein. But my Dad found them to be on the whole remarkably lazy...he spent years building up contacts yet the new breed couldn't be bothered and came to the older guys for names and numbers. Also my Dad would never do anything to really piss off anyone as he may need them again in the future for a quote etc.
Great mates with Bruce Forsythe, Bob Monkhouse and that generation and got many a good story off them as they could trust him not to break any embargoes before something was announced in the next season schedules. Yet my Dad would have the articles written and ready to publish.
