Contribute LTLF sponsored Henri Lansbury during the 2012/13 season, and we would like to sponsor a player again next season. To do this we would like your help.

IF LTLF members can raise enough money required to secure the sponsorship of a players shirt for the 2013/14 season we will give away everything to do with the sponsorship as prizes to those that have contributed (prize draw to decide which members win the prizes)

There's always another loophole, isn't there?

I think that Billy wanted to stay in the Premier league but when it became clear he wasn't going to play, there was only one choice!

How can anyone be even a little bit negative that we have signed a proven Championship goalscorer, the mind boggles.

    *insert Citizen Kane clap thingy*

Something like this wouldn't even cross my mind after such a mint few weeks!

It's like having a Friday night 4sum with the missus, Belinda Carlisle in her prime & Elizebeth Shue in hers, having them sort the house out, bring you breakfast in bed, drive you to the match to watch Forest beat Derby 5-0 and then stopping to wonder if your missus was paying more attention to Belinda than you the night before! Who cares?!?

No but neither is cox, or any player for that matter. Although, judigng by his history of goal-getting he is very likely to succeed along as he gets the right service.

I rather take Billy Sharp proven goalscorer at Championship leavel and will hit the ground running, Morison said no and that Arsenal lad is umproven in the Championship and wont necessary hack the championship so we have done remarkably well with signing Sharp.

Lansbury isn't unproven, he had 2 successful spells in the championship with Watford and Norwich. Didn't play that much for West Ham though but even so he still is very proven in the championship.

The Norwich fans rated him very highly.

All about timing with Sharp. He came along, SOD wanted him. Fawaz did a lot of persuading to get him.

    He's here. Great signing.

Way beyond that I would have thought

As for Sharp - he was obviously first choice. Apparently SoD requested that the owners sign him from day one. My guess is that Chu Young and Morison were wanted as well, with probably another player having to leave if either had happened.

Who cares, he was the best available and his goal scoring record is the best of them all!

That is what everyone is assuming. Might be right.

I'm just devastated we missed out on the undoubted talented genius that is Connor Sammon. He's taller than Billy Sharp you know.

If you'd said "plaice" rather than "place".....

NLN comments on signing Sammon are hilarious. " we've monitored his progress at Wigan in the Premier League and we know he is capable of finding the back of the net." One week later “He hasn’t played an awful lot of football in the last year,”

Why do all threads have to turn into Billy threads?

    Wasn't Drogba first choice?

According to several Blades fans I was talking to last night (since I'm living in Sheffield now), Billy Sharp was never played in the right position, James Beattie wanted him to support him, not get goals himself. Also Bryan Robson is clueless

I would have thought that of all the players signed, Billy would be the one that SOD would know how to get the best out of. McClaren seemed to know how to get the best out of Miller with 4 goals and 4 assists in 8 games. Had McClaren stayed who knows how Miller's season would have ended up, but he didn't manage either again. (It's the only good thing I can see McC did - play Miller right)

It's not the pieces you have but how you fit them together that gives the results.
