Contribute LTLF sponsored Henri Lansbury during the 2012/13 season, and we would like to sponsor a player again next season. To do this we would like your help.

IF LTLF members can raise enough money required to secure the sponsorship of a players shirt for the 2013/14 season we will give away everything to do with the sponsorship as prizes to those that have contributed (prize draw to decide which members win the prizes)

They do produce a vapour that looks a lot like smoke, some of them are very realistic.

Well the selling point of these is so people can smoke in places they couldnt before, not necessarily just to give up. My mind boggles at why folk cant smoke in a designated area outside tbh.

EDIT: Was going to say you might see these dissapear of the shelves soon anyway as theres is a lot of debate currently about the lack of proper research into the health effects of them. Though it is 'just a water vapour' its heated and its got stuff in it as it has a taste (you can even buy Ciggarette brand flavours etc) and I know some major retailers are toying with getting rid.

No it isn't, the selling point is that it's incredibly hard to stop smoking - it is one of the most addictive drugs known to man - and cigarettes contain several thousand harmful chemicals.

E-cigs contain the liquid that creates the vapour, the flavouring, and the nicotine - they are far better for your health than tobacco cigs.

I was smoking 40 a day and have tried patches, gum, lozenges, hypnosis, Zyban, & Champix and just couldn't stop. Got an e-cig and haven't had a fag for 3 weeks, and don't miss them.

It's all well and good for non smokers to sit there pontificating over smokers, but you just don't know what you're talking about unless you've actually been addicted to them and can understand first hand just how powerful a hold they have over you.

And conversely, my mind boggles why people get such a flap on because someone is doing something that LOOKS like smoking - it isn't smoking, so instead of trying to vilify people for doing something they don't like the look of, try thinking about why what someone else is doing is a problem to you, and why in this wonderfully PC world where we have to respect every tom, dick, and harry and their wacky views on life, that some people think it's okay to pick out smokers and refer to them as filthy chuckers, etc..

It's the chemicals in cigs that give you cancer. They accumulate in the lungs since your lungs can't clean themselves.

E-cigs are one of the best inventions ever. Within 2 days my lungs felt clear, I don't wake up coughing every morning, and rather than spending £450 per month on fags (or rather £45 on fags and £405 on the tax)I'm filling up the cartridges with eliquid and spending well under £20 per month.

Plus, when you light up a fag you smoke the whole thing. With the e-cig you pick it up have a couple of toots then put it back down again.

So I'm using it less (ie taking less drags per day than when smoking) as well.

loL - it sounds a bit like that.

It's mental the flavours you can get - cherry, vanilla, apple, choclate caramel, candy floss, cookies and cream - don't know why anyone would want to use those.

That does sound a bit ridiculous, but also intriguing at the same time...

Only the initial outlay is expensive, and I would recommend you make sure you get one with 2 batteries so you can always have one charged

Some of the flavoured liquids do make a pleasant, and refreshing, change, I've tried cherry, coffee and mint. Haven't seen the candyfloss one though!!!!!!

the Liberty Flights link looks alot posher than the ecig Ive got (mine's quite an early version, actually looks like a cig), but my Mum has one from there, and as you can see they don't look like cigs, so it should be fairly obvious to any steward that it's not a cig

What brand are you on? I did some research a while back and it seemed like NuCig were the best. A lot of the other "cheap" brands had bad reviews.

I got a sky cig - I don't know if the discount code still works, but SUN used to get you the starter kit for £11.99 instead of £49.99

I get my liquid from vape escape, you can get 5ml sample bottles for £2.49 each to find the flavours you like, then a 30ml bottle for £9.95 + p&p.

I'm using "deluxe" and "usa mix" (usa mix is supposed to be like Marlboro - doesn't taste much like it to me), have just ordered some other falvours to try out - virginia seems quite nice.

I bought 2 Sky Cig started kits at 11.99 each so I can make sure I've always got tons of batteries so I don't run out while I'm in the pub and end up buying a pack.

    No will power!

I couldn't tell you it's so long ago that I bought it, I got the liquid off my Mum so I assume its from Liberty, cos that's where she uses.

I am a smoker mate. When I bought mine about 3 years ago it was branded as something you could smoke in all the places youve been banned from smoking in recently, even going so far as to say they were negotiating with Wetherspoons to have them in vendors. I didnt buy mine to quit smoking. I guess it depends what brand and when and where you got it from as to what the marketing ploy was.

    Excellent last paragraph.

You can get those flavours and more in tobacco as well. Personally dont like flavoured tobacco.

My experince was that I thought it was amazing when I first got it but I dont use them anymore, due to a combination of them still being quite harsh, difficult to dose on, and not being able to use them still in most places where smoking is banned. I dont think any of us can start banging on about the health prospects of them yet though as they are currently being reviewed by all the medical outfits and under a lot of scrutiny. Are they more healthy than cigs? Probably. Are they not harmful at all? We dont know yet.

I use E-Cigs because I want to take up smoking gradually.

You're still taking nicotine which is a deadly poison albeit at small enough doses so that we wouldn't expect any harm.

Be very careful with the refills as even spilling it on your hand means you should seek medical attention as nicotine is unsuprisingly readily absorbed through the skin.

Don't let children anywhere near them or the refills it could be seriously bad news if they get hold of it.

Had to send a kid into A&E for biting/sucking on one the other day - didn't know if he'd managed to get at the liquid at all which would have been very bad or just sucked on it which to be fair could still have led to nicotine poisoning in a kid his age.

    Otherwise thank you for steaming
