Why has he left it so long to bugger off? Lynch was talking to Millwall ages ago, Mcleary left weeks before his contract expired yet he doesn't talk to a club until he's actually out of work? Was he hanging on for the takeover and hoping for a massive contract?

Average defender, shit captain. I think he is a confidence player, and without that he is distinctly average. A goal and a fist pump early next season and he will successfully deceive the majority of Ipswich fans too.

It's because Ipswich are just as desperate as us, just they don't have new owners to pray to!

Shame, I'd certainly have kept him. Pretty poor for the majority of last season but who wasn't. Good luck to the fella.

Rumour on Facebook is that Shackell is being sold to Burnley with Chambers going to Derby as his replacement..

We would have been much better off keeping him, stripping him of the captaincy and trying to coax some form out of the lad in my opinion. Oh yeah, and sacking Cotteril for his 'Luke don't pass it on the floor, hit it forward' shouts from the sidelines.
Spot on. I hope he recovers some form he's been an important player for the club, especially in Billy's last year and its pathetic how fickle some Forest fans are.

One of our only defenders has left the club. FUCKING GET IN woooo! ...

Chambers will be a decent enough signing for Ipswich and I wish him well (honestly), however I'm glad he has gone (going).

It's not to do with his defensive talent which he undoubtedly has, although after winning POTY nothing could have prepared us for quite such a poor season from him last term.

It's because if you are made club captain - then you make individual mistakes which cost goals, games and eventually the managers job, and then you don't take responsibility for those mistakes but instead turn on the fans for allegedly not showing enough support, is going to make you instantly dislikable and a player who will ultimately be deemed by the fans as someone we want out.

It's unfortunate we don't have much in the way of defensive cover, but assuming this takeover goes through we at least have the benefit of being able to bring in and form a brand new defensive unit, rather than having some hangers-on who are desperate to wear the captains armband but don't have the strength of character to do the job properly.

    In my opinion, of course.

As long as replacments are bought this is no bad thing.
Billy seemed to know what made him tick but he's been poor for anyone else.
