Contribute LTLF sponsored Henri Lansbury during the 2012/13 season, and we would like to sponsor a player again next season. To do this we would like your help.

IF LTLF members can raise enough money required to secure the sponsorship of a players shirt for the 2013/14 season we will give away everything to do with the sponsorship as prizes to those that have contributed (prize draw to decide which members win the prizes)

Default The spending starts here.......... Jordan Rhodes

First of all hands up I got the family and timeframe wrong but got the Kuwaiti part right, so yetagain some truth behind the post, but my source got a bit carried away!

Just been informed that Forest want to make Jordan Rhodes their marquee signing of the summer! Of course we face stiff competition from the likes of Everton, West Ham and possibly Fulham. But given the chance of regular first team football, big wages and big bonuses forest are hoping to lure him to the City Ground. He is believed to be a the big statement forest and the al hasawis want to make, and to me shows that we now have te intention to move forward and In the words of al hasawi back to where we belong!

    Kuwait and see!

More change of signing Dustin Hoffman.

I will take this with a pinch of salt but if this is the sort of "marquee" signing we should expect, then I would be very happy with the direction the Alhasawis were taking us in. Rhodes is a good, young, hungry player who can only get better, and from what Ive heard of him he sounds like a top lad and good pro. Much better than some over-the-hill ex-star here for a payday. Would be a good start.

Not having a go at this particular thread but people are getting carried away already. Why would Jordan Rhodes join a team in the same league as his current team, however rosy their prospects are, when I'm sure he could go straight to a mid-level prem team?

I've seen people punting AVB or Harry Redknapp as possible managers. It's daft.

We're still a Championship club even if we've suddenly upped our level of ambition.

Didn't the prospective new owners, and Nottingham Forest issue a statement saying...ignore the media, ignore the BS?

Gary Rhodes will be the dish of the summer signing if Jordan Rhodes is the marquee signing of the summer.

Rhodes is ambitious and Huddersfield dont want to lose him. That means 2 things:

    a) If the new owners are intent on getting us up asap and intend to spend to do it, then we could offer him a better salary, regular football and great prospects of Prem football within 2 years; and
    b) Huddersfield will want upwards of 5m for him, which may be too much of a gamble for Prem teams like Everton or Fulham but may be OK for an ambitious Championship team

I think we would have a decent chance of signing him if the new owners had the cash to get a bid accepted. Youre right though, nothings happened yet, so lets not get carried away just yet. My original point though, was if we do splash the cash, Id much rather it be on players like Rhodes than hasbeens who used to be big names.

I agree. I think we have missed the boat with Rhodes but definitely want to buy potential rather big names

I wouldn't want to spend upwards of five million of him to be honest.

What I'm most interested about, and you'd assume it'll be the first thing the owners do, is decide about the manager. The Moose, since you've told us this, what's happening with Cotterill? Conflicting reports are conflicting!

Well I can only report what I've heard! As I've said before I dont post mindless things like were gonna sign messi or pep guardiola will be next manager. I for one do believe it's ambitious but an achievable signing at the same time. Rhodes may do well in the premier league but he's untested and if forest and the al hasawis are serious about getting to the top flight and show the right levels ambition why wouldn't Rhodes join us, he'll have chance to gel with a team in the championship where he is also untested then make the step up to the prem in the next couple of seasons hopefully.

Seeing as the deals not gone through, and we don't know who the manager is going to be how can the owners have targets,

How much would Rhodes cost? £7+ million quid I reckon. Not worth it, when we could probably get Maynard for less, seeing as he's not getting a look in at West Ham, and doubt he will next season.

Because there is the world of official press releases and there is the real world of what's actually happening. Do you think the owners would wait until the official confirmation before beginning to put plans in to action?

Hopefully they will be confirmed as new owners very soon and as for manager I don't know but Mick McCarthy is the one I think! Also I'm sure the al hasawi boys will have a say on names coming in.
