If England can keep Pirlo quiet, they will win by the odd goal in three, according to my Italian colleague.

    2-1 England; Welbeck and Rooney!

Be interesting how Hodgson approaches this game as England and Italy are pretty similiar sides. We'll need every player to be on form to win this one!

Ive been impressed that England have done aswell as we have, as we've looked pretty ropey.

But hopefully we can continue and beat Italy and at least get to a semi final

    COME ON ENGLAND!

I know everyone hates him, but this is still one of the best moments of my lifetime as a footy fan

I have a feeling Italy will sneak it. Probably after extra time. If we go out I hope we go out fighting and not with a whimper.

Italy just about evens to win outright. Might stick a wodge of cash on and get the new home shirt if England lose.

    England 1-0 Italy

    Rooney 77min

Walcott to come on late and use his pace against the tired Italian defence to help us win.

Martinez just made a point in that England have better options on the bench should we want to freshen things up. Barring Di Natali (if he doesnt start) i think Roberto makes a good case there. I like Martinez, he knows his onions.

I'm going to cheer for England with such passion that people will think I am an Italian.

If for nothing else, beat Italy for giving us Platty, Mannini and Matrecano, the trifecta of faeces.

I'm going for an England win in a tight game.

The reason for my optimism is that I haven't seen an England team since 96 who genuinely look like they wanted to play for England.

This team seems laid back, in good spirits and actually have some belief.

I still believe having an English manager has done wonders for the squad. If Capello was in charge still how would he deal with playing Italy?

Roy has instilled in to this squad that it is a wonderful privilege to represent your country. Something ever young boy in our country dream of doing.

Come on England get us to semi final to play our old enemy Germany.

    I think it's Joe Hart.

First time since Shilton that we've had a genuine world class goalkeeper, and one who will be between the sticks for the next decade.

    Talk to me, Goose.

Hart does look the business. Kinda hoping that it goes to penalties so he can save a few and drill one pasr buffon. Shit, they have got buffon in goal. Seems like he's been around forever. Still one of the top keepers in the game.

Yep Buffon is still an unbelievable keeper, he makes every save seem so easy!
