Default France v England - Matchday Thread 11 June

I have never started a Matchday thread but I did feel it appropriate to start this one.

    Allez les Bleus!

You don't frighten us, English pig dogs. Go and boil your bottoms, you sons of a silly person. I blow my nose at you, so-called "Arthur King," you and all your silly English K-nig-hts. You empty headed animal food trough whopper! I fart in your general direction! Your mother was a hamster and your father smelt of eldeberries.

Now that is the way to start a matchday thread!

Draw for me - I'm hearing that the French fans are actually quite pessemistic about the game and fancy England to spin them over, are you in this camp LJR?

It's France Alf?....it all depends on what happens in the Dressing Room and on the Training Ground. On paper they are a better team than England and if they can bond rather than argue and sulk they could go all the way.

Phew! that's a 3-0 win then for England!

Just looking at the squad -

    FRANCE'S 23-MAN SQUAD

Goalkeepers: Cedric Carrasso (Bordeaux), Hugo Lloris (Lyon), Steve Mandanda (Marseille).

Defenders: Gael Clichy (Manchester City), Mathieu Debuchy (Lille), Patrice Evra (Manchester United), Laurent Koscielny (Arsenal), Philippe Mexes (Milan), Adil Rami (Valencia), Anthony Reveillere (Lyon).

Midfielders: Yohan Cabaye (Newcastle), Alou Diarra (Marseille), Florent Malouda (Chelsea), Marvin Martin (Sochaux), Blaise Matuidi (Paris St-Germain), Yann M'vila (Rennes), Samir Nasri (Manchester City).

Forwards: Hatem Ben Arfa (Newcastle), Karim Benzema (Real Madrid), Olivier Giroud (Montpellier), Jeremy Menez (Paris St-Germain), Franck Ribery (Bayern Munich), Mathieu Valbuena (Marseille)

That's got a lot of class there, but I fancy Hodgeson's tactics will be well suited to cancelling that out.

Also, I like Ribery simply coz he's name sounds similar to 'Rubbery'

Hodgeson? Is he coming up against a France side managed by Laurent Blank?

1-1. Cabaye from a Free kick and A Scrappy equalizer from Andy Caroll.

    I'd going to say France 2 - 1 England.

France have a lot of quality in that side, but England will close the margin with rugged defending and to a lesser extent, spoiling tactics

Also - Is it true that England have only sold around 3,000 tickets for this game? We know there's a lot more than 3,000 fans going over, so it should be fun if the rest of the travelling fans are enjoying the local drinking establishments outside of the stadium.

The Polish and Ukranian chaps have promised to give an especially warm welcome to the English, so I imagine there will be some sort of street party, a real ice-breaking cultural exchange.

That French side is full of quality apart from Centre Midfield, where our more experienced players will have the edge.

Or their younger legs will run us apart.

The match still hasn't sold out, and with tickets being available for just 30 Euros I very much doubt anyone will go all that way and watch it in the bars.

    Hmmm. France 1, England 0.

Benzema the scorer for Les Bleus.

2-0 England. I don't see that France's squad is any distance better than ours.

    Hart

    Johnson
    Terry
    Cahill
    Cole

    Parker
    Jones

    Walcott
    Gerrard
    Young

    Carroll

I believe that it will be a draw and the neighbouring countries of France and England can be friends forever.

    Really?

I would be concerned but the awesome news about our new owners pales everything else into insignificance.
