Contribute LTLF sponsored Henri Lansbury during the 2012/13 season, and we would like to sponsor a player again next season. To do this we would like your help.

IF LTLF members can raise enough money required to secure the sponsorship of a players shirt for the 2013/14 season we will give away everything to do with the sponsorship as prizes to those that have contributed (prize draw to decide which members win the prizes)

The sort of player we need right now is a genuine box-to-box midfielder, who can score from 35 yeards and who (according to Mrs S) is a bit of a dish.

We'll see. I remember thinking Andy Cole could for us- and what happened? No need to answer that one- it's rhetorical.

Tbh I think he'd be an OK signing, but the fact that we would have Heskey at the club would be embarrassing.

Now Owen has been released by ManUre so they can reignite their prolific (!) partnership at some lower league club. There is a treatment room somewhere with their names on it.

Michael Owen has ruled out going anywhere other than the Premier League. He's convinced he still has what it takes to perform at the very highest level. Sure you do, Michael...

Of course Owen still has enough to play in the Premier League...

...for about two weeks, until he gets injured again, probably for months.

Will he be digging out his own brochure again trying to sell himself. It is all image for Owen. He would probably rather play at a big club for free than have to lose face and play at a lesser team. What a waste of talent.

A slightly better, Premiership, version of Dele Adebola in his prime, he would probably be very effective in the Championship.

Like other players of his ilk (high acceleration from standing start e.g. Tyson) he has been prone to injury.
THe body can't take that sort of stress week in, week out - I know!

If someone needed a Heskey type player they needn't look any further than Adebayo Akinfemwa from Notrthampton. He possesses all the qualities that Heskey has and he can put the ball in the net aswell scoring 18 goals for Northampton this season! Plus he'd be on considerably lower wages than Heskey. We don't need a player like this at the moment though, as Blackstock has enough strength upfront.

There's a thousand or more Emile Heskeys all over the lower leagues.

Drogba is leaving Chelsea - any links with Forest, or his middle name Ivanhoe?
EDIT: just checked: no links with Forest (yet), but his middle name is Yves - I don't think I' bend down to pick up Yves' soap in the shower after the game thank you very much!

Drogba is off to China to team up with his old strike-partner Nico Anelka in Shanghai.

What a waste of talent, he should just go to a slightly poorer PL club or somewhere in Italy or Spain.

Why play out your days with a "poorer PL club" or in Spain or in Italy were every fan would be looking for signs that he was over the hill.
In the old days he would have gone to USA to pick up mega-bucks and be adored as a fabulous star.
Nowadays, like in many walks of life, the big money and the more rabid fan base is in China.
He will adored as a God; he will earn so much he will be more minted than anyone else (other than Beckham) and he will not be watched for signs of decline...

Holy shite! 153 goals from 712 matches? I bet some defenders have scored more than that!
Psycho scored 83 from 746 senior appearences for England he got 5 from 78 whereas Heskey had 7 from 62.

We've already got strikers who can't score....why the hell would we want Heskey?!?!

Because he's one of the most selfless workers in the game and almost always improves his strike partners.
