    Default Average League 1 Team

Anyone else remembering only a few months ago, saying that to themselves about Forest?

I remember trying to come to terms with the disappointment of still being there, and thinking we could still be next season. Watching some of those crappy results we had and thinking about the pants football we'd watched and saying to yourself, "well, I suppose that's 3rd division standard football".

I think it'll take seeing the fixture list and some good signings to finally shake that off, I can't wait

I was in Notts briefly over the weekend and thought it was pretty tragic seeing the "We're in the Championship!" billboards everywhere. We're all happy, but until we're European champions again, I'm not sure the billboards are necessary...

Indeed, but there is more chance of the Jetsons becoming a reality sadly.

We are still pretty average, got up by three slices of immense good fortune. Our signings will determine how we do.

Oh, and whether Colin Calderwood plays them hopelessly out of position draining them of 80-90% of all ability they have.

You could say we had misfortune at various points earlier in the season.

If we were average, we would have finished about 12th.

We were the 2nd best team in the league, FACT.

I would have feared for the future of the club had be failed to get promotion. Luckily we have and now can build for the future. I do think billboards are bit over-the-top too.

Why not? It might not be our greatest achievement ever, but it's still something to be proud of, one of the few things we've had to be genuinely proud of over the last 5 years...

...besides, it not like were the only ones. Peterborough had an open-top bus parade around the city to celebrate finishing second in league 2

Yeah, we could have gone for that picnic we've spoken so much about.

This "real table" garbage needs to stop here. Once and for all.

Q: If Forest did not pay their bills and instead lavished all the money on new players, then got promoted because of that spending, would it be fair?

A: Answer, of course not as they'd have have a competitive advantage over their rivals because they wouldn't have the overheads of other teams in the division.

This is exactly what Leeds did, and therefore they cheated to give themselves a competitive advantage. Therefore the points penalty was fair, and the real table was that which placed Swansea, Forest, Doncaster, 1, 2, 3.

    No we were still 2nd.

If we had gone by the "real table" we everyone would've been the same it would have meant Leeds were not in the league

That too – by League rules Leeds would have been kicked out for cheating their creditors out of money.

Leeds probably would have argued we deserved the points deduction if we had done what they did... If that makes sense!!

It will never happen again, the rules have changed. It will end up being thrown in our faces similar to Sheffield united thing and the whole tevez debate.

We came second and we are a Championship team for a season at least. So, No, we are not an average League 1 team. An average League 1 team does not have the following things:

2 European Cups in living memoryl, plus sundry other trophies.
    A crowd of 20 thousand +
    A squad that includes Internationals
An Academy that grows players who become Internationals
Special tape that prevents anyone running on the pitch, even when we are promoted - I am still carrying some of this in my briefcase. If I am mugged (Unlikely in Norfolk fields) I can use it as a weapon to protect myself.

Just to point out, Capital One put up the billboards and posters on trams etc... not the club.

Saw the posters last week and made me smile, why not, as fans we have suffered some rough times, enjoy the good one's, grin every time you see a poster.

I think it's brilliant, or do we prefer not to celebrate Forest in Nottingham. Maybe Munchester Moscow would be better then we could all have a moan and gripe.

I'll try to remember to take one, there's a couple on the way to work for me - they're on those revolving things though, so it depends on the timing of those and the traffic lights (and if I remember lol )
