    Default 442 magazine

Don't know if this has been mentioned, but there is a good article in this months 442 magazine, about the Carling Cup match against County. And some members of the forum got a mention, so well done to 'Homebird', 'ParisRed' and Psycho's left foot' who all got a mention.

    Favourite quote,

'Nottingham football, strange fish that it is, is a little slice of utopia'.

I thought it was a pretty wierd and slightly "gay" article. Thought they had decided on the theme already and wrote the events and history to suit the theme they had chosen. And one of the county fans pictured looked like a slightly chubby Adam Pearson.

I've been meaning to stop buying 4-4-2 for ages but I just naturally buy it. It is expensive for the couple of decent columns in it. I don't particularly want to read about Barcelona or Lionel Messi every issue like everyone else seems to want too.

Don't usually buy fourfourtwo, if I'm going to buy a footy magazine, I'll pick up a copy of the wonderful When Saturday Comes.

Though I might make an exception and pick up this months.

I think it was a bit of a glammed up article to be fair. I know we don't want to kill each other but we don't generally like each other. They're jealous and we like to rub them up even more by thinking they're irrelevant.

It was the Munto thing that kind of soured things a little but it's all good fun and banter most of the time.

I'm subscribed to WSC for a year, it's a fantastic magazine. Full of decent arguments, not just "WHO'S DA BEST? ROONEY OR MESSI?" etc.

I've just ordered a couple of copies of The Blizzard, which has only recently got going.

It could be a really good read, judging by some of the characters involved in it.

    I've got chills.

    They're multiplying.

By "relegation battle", do you mean 7th, 12th or 14th?

This is the problem I have with 442. It does have some interesting stuff, don't get me wrong, but it seems to spend waay too much giving fawning interviews to players (E.g. "So Rooney, you're the greatest England striker of your generation, possibly one of the all time greats, and yet you're only 23. My question is, how do you look so attractive and masculine whilst working so hard?"); or talking inanely about whatever hot potato there is in the World of the Premier League this month (E.g. "With Arsenal staring down the barrel of the shotgun that is relegation to utter and complete insignificance, we ask, are Arsenal fans right to switch support to Chelsea? Former Gooner, now Chelsea fan Arsey McArse-Arse says "yes"").

WSC is quirky, looks deeper into football, and treats it all with a world weary cynicism that is lacking from 442. That's why I enjoy it.

Apologies for the quality on a couple of them.

And for what it's worth, I don't mind 442. It's got a good article about AFC Wimbledon in this issue too.

Decent read. Annoying that they didn't bother to check how to spell Bridgford, though.

Tell me about it. Noticed another huge spelling error as well, can't remember what it was though.
