How the hell do Man City constitute an over acheiver?

It bemuses me to see something like that. Then a bit further down it says they are currently the biggest under acheivers whereas Tottenham aiming at a top4 place are on the bottom.

They need to get their facts sorted out. I don't get Wolves either and where are Leicester?

They've got it all wrong for me.

    Man City don't constitute an over-achiever. They're a massive under-achiever.

Yes, they're in the top flight, but they haven't won anything for ages, yet still get 40,000 a week watching them.

They've been down in Division two in the last 10-15 years, as have Sheffield Wednesday and Forest - all of whom are clubs with a very big fan-base.

Wolves are a one club city, just like Coventry - everyone from that place tends to support that club, so I think it's quite fair to be honest.

It makes a judgement on where you expect to be based on transfers, stadium size, financial stability and compares it with what you have actually achieved. *This is averaged out since 1992.

A club like forest which has a big ground (for where we are), has spent and received quite a lot of money and is relatively financially stable should expect to do well by their rational.

I can see where they're coming from, there's been many an argument here about how we should be doing better based on our transfers, stadium size fan base etc.

From my experience, most people in Wolverhampton and/or Coventry support one of Man Utd, Liverpool, Chelsea or Arsenal.

Not when I lived in Wolverhampton which was until 2003. I met very few locals who supported anyone but Wolves.

We had this kind of debate on this very board not long back, didn't we?

Most people chose to put Sheffield Wednesday, Forest and Wolves in the top 20(ish) most supported clubs in the country.

That's reflected by the report. Granted, Coventry probably wouldn't get much over 30k a week, even as European Champions (ha!) but I think they've got it about right.

Yamyam is right about Wolverhampton. There's quite a few Wolves fans down here in Eastbourne, bizarrely!

I know a fair few people from Coventry and the surrounding areas due to living in Warwickshire for quite a while and most of them support either Cov or Leicester - Mostly Coventry.

Leeds United, they should be at the top. Thought I'd never say that.

I don't think anybody in my sunday team (I play in Rugby) supports Cov! Couple of Leicester, Villa and Northampton Town fans though.

I lived in Rugby for about 5 years. Pretty much everyone I went to school with either supported Coventry or Leicester.

    Leicester are where they belong.

Not strictly true though, as the report is based on results since 1992, and in that intervening period they achieved quite a lot, they're just properly cack now - which is funny to me because that's where I work!!

The Forest that kicked off the inaugural Premiership in August 1992 was a Forest that had just lost a League Cup Final, been in the FA Cup quarter-finals, and finished a creditable 8th in the final First Division campaign.

That same Nottingham Forest haven’t been in the top flight since 1999, and for the past three seasons were plying their trade in League One. A bit of a come-down for a side that, 10 years earlier, had made the last eight of the UEFA Cup.

But whilst Forest have undoubtedly under-achieved in a big way, there are signs that things are picking up at the City Ground. Perhaps this Championship campaign will put them firmly back on the road to the Premier League?

I'm glad someone did an official poll. I hadn't realised.
