    Default Football Manager Challenge

Right...something like this was done back in the olden days so here we go. I'm going to start with a simple one to see how we go.

Load a Large database and apply attribute masking with the English League down to Championship, Scots Prem, Spanish Prem, Italian Prem and French Prem. The version should be default.

Set the game to start in England July 2010. As your manager you reputation should be Automatic

Choose one of the following teams to manage and take the points from your starting total e.g. you play as Bolton -6 points....play as Blackpool -1:

    • Blackpool - 1 points
    • West Ham - 3 points
    • Blackburn - 4 points
    • Wigan - 5 points
    • Birmingham - 3 points
    • Bolton - 6 points

The game will play for one season the aim is essentially to finish as high in the league as possible and potentially winning or going as far as possible in the league/FA Cup.

    Points are assigned as follows:

    1st 40 points
    2nd 38 points
    3rd 36 points
    4th 34 points
    5th 32 points
    6th 30 points
    7th 28 points
    8th 26 points
    9th 24 points
    10th 22 points
    11th 20 points
    12th 18 points
    13th 16 points
    14th 14 points
    15th 12 points
    16th 10 points
    17th 8 points
    18th 6 points
    19th 4 points
    20th 2 points

Failure to beat Derby's points record will result in - 5,000,000 points.

3 points will be given per round passed in the league and FA cups with a bonus 10 points for reaching either final and a further 5 points given for winning the thing. So for the FA cup the winner is eligible for 33 points (if I can add up properly)

Bonus points will also be given at certian goal scored thresholds or by having a player in the top goalscorers list...points will be taken away for loads of goals being conceded. See below:

    More than 80 goals +/- 5 points
    More than 90 goals +/- 7 points
    More than 100 goals +/- 10 Points
    More than 110 goals +/- 15 points

Bonus points of 4 per month for manager of the month awards/manager of the season is given a bonus of 10 points.

Further rules posted in due course when I think of some....who wants to play?

I play on 11.1, tried playing with .2 & .3 but for some reason it really slows down and overheats my laptop more?

    July 2010, of course?

Edit: one more thing, when choosing the leagues you propose, I can't be an ex-Sunday League Player... Past experience can be chosen only from professional/international (or automatic).

Hmmm...Reputation should be automatic and looks like we will have to use 11.1.

    This isn't going too well.

If everyone prefers to use .2/3 then do that. I'll still do the challenge using .1

this wont benefit me as my immediet gameplan with more than one season in mind would be to simply invest in a blackpool team capable of pissing the championship second year..

Guys see edits to original post for rules - what does everyone think for a reasonable timeframe? 1-2 weeks?

    Players:
    Stuc
    NFFC1991
    Adam09
    Me
    R42
    Klinsk
    Joe

We are about ready to go i think.

I'd say about 10 days is good, possibly two weeks to make sure everyone can finish it?

Last time if people played it more and finished early they could always try it again or continue with another game and it seemed to work well.

2 weeks would suit me pretty well...depends on everyone else.

Of course there has to be a degree of honesty with this i.e. don't save and re-load etc....

Just Print Screen the page you want, paste it into MS Paint and then save. Upload it to a site like photobucket and Bob's your uncle!
