So...have been told by my usual source at Peterborough, who knows I'm a Forest fan, that they have made a sizeable offer for a Forest striker, as a replacement for Mackail-Smith, no response from Forest yet, so could be accepted or rejected.
Having conducted a process of elimination - (Won't be Dele, Tys or Rodney as they could get them for free, they can't afford Earnie or Dex's salaries, unlikely to be Findlay or Tudgay as they've only just got here, could possibly be McGoldrick, but more likely to be...) - I've added 2+2 together and come to the conclusion that they're after Joe Garner.

always rated him, he'll be the next grant holt. rated and valued much higher than whatever minimal fee we'll inevitably let him go for.
I thought he was nipping across the Trent to the Sad Pies?
Would rather it be McGoldrick, at least Garner looks like he's trying. Although i don't think a suitable replacement would be too hard to find (even for Forest).
Makes sense, think he'd fit in well there.

Under the right manager Garner would be a menace in this league. He needs someone who's willing to work with him to build up his maturity and physical strength, and as someone stated he's got the potential to be the next Grolt. Another striker we've played everywhere except up front.
I would keep Garns, ESP if we're losing earnie!
Play him up front and I reckon he would do well! Needs to grow up a bit, stop the partying and increase his speed IMO to be top striker in this league!
I hope Garner has looked at Chambers and Lewis, two players who, alongside Garner, were in the DRUNK (Drinking repetatively, Unhappy Ned Kelly) club but have got their heads down, worked hard and have forced their way into the starting eleven on merit alone.
Garner has the skill to be one of the best strikers in this league. I only hope he matures for us rather than after we sell him.
At the moment I'd say somewhere between zero and none. The reason I say this is the chairman has a long record of not entertaining agents who play any kind of games.
Also, the club has a well-documented policy of signing 'young, hungry' players. Tys doesn't really fit that billing.
Please be McGoldrick!!!
Anymore than 10p and I'd snap their hand off

It quite well may be Garner for £1m...
If we can recoup our money on him it would be a good move all round.
I'd prefer for us to recoup our money on McGoldrick and give Garner a proper crack of the whip. Garner scored almost as many in three months for a downtrodden Scunny as McGoldrick has done in two seasons for us.
Probably over a similar number of games playedOriginally Posted by soulmonkeylove
