Default Pre Season Training Camp abroad

The last two summers have seen Forest head off to Portugal preseason. Unfortunately the notice period last year was very short.

As we know the club do read here, it would be grand if any travel plans could be confirmed to the supporters in plenty of time for us to book our summer holidays around them.

If nothing has been booked yet, I'd love to suggest Eastern Europe or Holland. Basically somewhere with good watering holes and a good local team to have a game against, and for those of us not on football club wages, somewhere with good flight deals.

Many of us aren't on a footballers salary, and as such will need some notice when it comes to booking, so it would be grand if the club could take this into account and give us a chance to put a few quid aside and book flights before they go crazy with prices. 2 or 3 weeks notice make cheap flights very very expensive flights.

Has anyone heard anything from the club about potential summer trips?

Why don't you drop him an email claiming to be Richard van der Crouch from PSV Eindhoven and ask him if he'd like to arrange a friendly. Let him know about the cheap flights, that could make the difference.

The players have known about this at the players awards the previous two years. Should have made enquiries.

Portugal seems to be likely if that's the case, Beasty.

£2 each way with no taxes is pretty damn good.

Maybe they were dropping hints with the Spanish Darlow thing?

I'm not sure it was a 'hint'. If it was anyone who spoke to Majewski would be thinking the preseason would be in Poland, and anyone who spoke to Moussi would believe it was in France...

I thought for a second you were insinuating that Darlow wasn't Spanish.

We certainly won't be held to ransom on flight charges.

No, just offering a humorous alternative explanation for that still suprising bit of news!

It's not that surprising, just look at him.

Ok, so he's probably not going to be replacing Casillas this season, but in the future...

Not in that way...more suprising that Spain are actively 'recruiting' a player who (at the time) hadn't played a minute of first team football in a (to them) foreign, non-top tier league.

It's a great endorsement for a player who I, personally, hadn't realised was so highly rated. So a nice surprise, if you will.

There'll be five minutes notice and an extortionately priced 'package' on offer by some sports firm, who've been given the nod the week before and booked up all the cheap flights.

Perhaps it's that ethos which has seen them win a World Cup and produce players like Fabregas and Torres, whereas our hopes are rested in the shoulders of super-injunction loving nobheads.

You might be onto something here. I doubt our FA wouldn't even be aware if some promising young Goalkeeper in the Real Betis team, with English heritage even existed...

Meh, that's just an excuse for some FA fat cat to grap a fortnight in Chiapas.
