    Default Yazoo Banana Milkshake

Is it really appropriate for a professional footballer to be using banana milkshake to re-hydrate after 70 minutes of play?

Bananas (herb, not fruit or vegetable - true fact, trivia fans) are full of potassium.

Potassium is great for knackering the alkanes (or is it the alkenes)* that form in the brain after a drinking binge, that otherwise give you a hangover.

Best thing to do before bed, after a night on the piss (besides the crying wank of shame) is have a pint of water or milk, and a banana.

Make of that what you will.

    *or possibly the aldehydes...

Glad Boyd didn't choose the sit on the bench wanking while crying his eyes out option. That would have raised a few eyebrows.

its actualy quite low in calories to be fair, and full of vitamins so possibly better than crap energy drinks.

    http://www.bikeradar.com/gear/catego...lkshake-33963/

    Manufacturers description
New research has found that milk keeps the body re-hydrated four times longer than either water or expensive special-formula sports drinks. Milk drinks are rich in sodium and potassium both of which are lost in vast quantities through exercise. Carting around a pint of milk might not be the most practical solution, so next time you go to the gym why not switch to a handy sized bottle of YAZOO. YAZOO milkshake now contains real fruit juice, is low in fat and packed with calcium and vitamin B - and it doesn't contain any added colours or preservatives. It is a tasty and cheap alternative to expensive energy drinks with a 500ml bottle costing only £0.85! According to health expert Dr Jennie Cockroft (Director of Nutrition at Purely Nutrition Ltd), 'Milk and milk-based drinks, such as Yazoo, are an excellent choice for quenching your thirst pre- or post-exercise because new research suggests that milk can keep the body re-hydrated for longer than water'. YAZOO is currently used by a number of professional sports men and women to replenish after a tiring training session or gruelling match. Fans include Sales Sharks and England Rugby winger Mark Cueto, England hockey captain Glenn Kirkham and a number of Premiership and Championship football clubs.

It caused much merriment in my house, missed about 3 minutes of the game for the laughing.

Didn't help my mate adding 'fuck me, he'll have a deep fried mars bar after that'

Flavoured milk is far better for athletes than energy drinks because of the addition of protein. You get the same sugar/carb hit as a sports drink plus protein for muscle repair in an ideal ratio. You also get the hit of vitamins that other drinks do not contain. Does look a bit funny on the TV though!

I would've gone for the chocolate, banana milkshake isn't my favourite.

Glad someone else spotted Kris enjoying his milky treat.

We've been drinking them after Sunday league for a few years.

I prefer a Lucozade to be honest but they're not bad. I think I first saw a player drinking them for Farnborough Town about 3 years ago and laughed then, wondering what he was doing.

I think drinking milk after running around for 70 mins would make me sick, o wait a minute, you said it was Boyd. I will retract the 'running around for 70 mins' part of my previous statement.

I have to tell you that this is incorrect.

The banana TREE is the worlds largest herb. The banana itself is the fruit (or more correctly berry) of the banana tree i.e. it is a fleshy surround for seeds.

    So

    Banana TREE = Herb
    Banana = Fruit (Berry)

    OK?

    Now where's my anorak?

It may well have been a Yazzoo bottle, but knowing Boyd, it probably had Special Brew inside. Just out of camera shot, he was nibbling on a battered Mars Bar too...
