    Default Last Chance Saloon

Yesterday's defeat hurt hard and I said before the match if we didn't win it was game over. This morning I have had a long hard look at the table and I reckon if we can get 14 Points from the 18 still to play for we will be in with a chance, massive ask saying our recent form, but a win on Tuesday could be the turning point

Leeds' run in looks a very tricky one with 4 of the 6 games playing teams in the top 10 still with a chance of play-offs, albeit slim. The other 2 against Derby (need a win to secure, plus for knock off to get a morale victory for Sir Brian) and Palace away

Lets hope we don't bottle it again on Tuesday and dig in deep as one more loss for Burnley and they are out the mix !!

The problem we have is that there are three other teams well in the mix to snatch the place ahead of us, even if Leeds do crumble. The likelihood of us bettering all three of those teams form is slim. We are in last chance saloon, but all of Millwall, Hull and Leicester are in better fighting shape to get there ahead of us. It is unlikely that we will better all three sides in the run-in. In fact, it's worth pointing out that a loss to Burnley would mean there would suddenly be five teams fighting it out for that spot - and Burnley would still have a game in hand.

I still believe we can make the play offs as you can never tell what can happen in this league, look no further than last season with Blackpool sneaking into 6th on the last day and going on to win the play offs.

If we lose to Burnley on tuesday its time to start planning for next season on the other hand all it will take is to win a few on the bounce and we'll be back in the thick of it.

I can see 15 points there, but have no faith that we'll get them.

Talking with my pal this afternoon, who is a Leicester fan, now he is worried about them reaching the play-off's, full of loan players on enormous wages, according to him they are on a shite or bust run.

As for Forest reaching the play-off's, well we are now in the back seat position, but the pressure is now on teams above to maintain their positions above us. Points in the bag are worth far more than calculations of if my aunt had balls she'd be my uncle type, but this league must be the hardest ever to get out of, becomes increasingly so season after season.

A question I would ask.......not popular I'm certain, but would it be better for Forest to miss the play-offs rather than start next season with another play-off hang over ?, because as things stand now, Forest are not hittting the consistant form required to win/ get the results that matter in three highly pressurise games one after the other.

I'd hate for us to go into the playoffs in our current form, we'd be humiliated.

The gap between us and 6th is only four points, but it may as well be fourteen.

agree tbh I would rather miss out this season than have my hopes raised and then crash and burn also I think a mid table finnish after such a great possition in febuary will spark a massive autopsy of everyone at the club and feel thats whats need for us to move foward, another play off defeat will be seen as a succes for the manager and board tbh

If we're going to make the play offs I'd rather us do it from our current position rather than grimly hanging onto 6th place for ages like we looked like doing for a while. To get into them now would almost certainly involve us going into the play offs on a great run of form with plenty of momentum and confidence, unlike last year where we started to lose form and came up against a Blakpoo team who were flying.

That said I wouldn't be too devastated to miss out completely.
