In that case RB, his 'doom and gloom' would have actually lightened the 'acid ranting' up - especially on that Leeds thread.

Supposedly he was very close to making the game against Derby so you would imagine he will be ready for Bristol.

Thought Madine got topside of Figs far too much yesterday. Think Dawson would have give him a much, much harder game.

    Hurry back lad.

Really? All I can remember is Madine on his arse constantly bitching to the ref about being elbowed every time he was challenged by TF, whilst Harris was going apoplectic at the 4th-official, demanding that the defender be carded.

Was he the prick that kept pulling the “head injury” stunt

Yes. He eloquently told the Forest fans sat behind the Cardiff bench who gave him a bit of stick after he was subbed to "fuck off wankers".

Thought Madine was winning the ball too easily, and Figs wasn't as dominant in the air as Daws.

I don't disagree about Dawson's abilties, but Madine rarely got the better of either of our centre-backs yesterday Alf. End of.

Fair few times I thought had Daws been at CB instead of Figs that we'd have won the ball or call when we didn't.

Didn't think it was a major problem, just reminded me how dominant Dawson is at this level.

Figs is fine against most opposition, but sometimes having that extra bit of quality/strength/skill/dominance etc. is the difference, and yesterday Daws would have helped.

The bloke is 6ft 4inches or whatever tall, he's going to have his moments whoever he's up against. He definitely didn't dominate our centre-backs as you implied however.

Never said he did, just said Daws' would have dominated him. Figs was competitive, but didn't make him anonymous like I feel Daws' would.

Well, to reiterate, he was complaining to the referee everytime that he was left on his arse following a challenge, so, you're wrong Alf, TF did "dominate" him, and he was made to be effectively "anonymous" as you put it.

Furthermore, it's not a criticism of Dawson to make that point.

I seem to recall it takes him a few games to get up to speed, He was brilliant before his injury but that took him several games to get up to 100%
I think this is the reason why he was so poor today , He is old and it takes him several games to get going again.

The problem is with biscuits is that they never really get proper fit. By the time they do get there they get injured again. In todays game you need your fitness to be consistently good and unfortunately, especially at his age, Dawsons isn't and hasn't been for a while

You just know that he will break and that knackers any chance of good partnerships and understanding

Our problems are all over the pitch.
Grabban gets no service and only scores in sporadic bursts.
Wingers get the ball passed in behind them or into feet so are stationary when trying to start a run.
Defensive midfield is playing too deep.
    Back 4 are slow.
Keeper is decent, but will suffer when the defence repeatedly expose him.

If he takes a while to get going whats the point in slotting him in straight away and dropping Figs who has been playing well?

He’s been great all season. One bad game is naff all in the scheme of things.

Daws' offers more than any other CB at the club, his leadership & passing range were two key elements in our good form this season. Figs is a good dep, but has neither of those.

So it's worth baring with him a game or two to get up to speed. When Figs came back in his first few games were crap. Got to be fair to Daws' and allow him a game or two too.

He needs proper games to get going so you have to play him, Match sharpness can't be achieved in u23 games the level isn't there.
