Agreed, think he desperately needs to cut those out but he’s young enough and we all used to say the same about Wes..I think we’ve got 4 decent championship CBs now. Would but good if one could step up to the next level..

Gerrim out, another that's come back on perceived heart strings with little to offer but a huge wage burden.

These players and agents know exactly what they're doing ffs, folk must get with what's actually happening instead of living in a SS fantasy land.

We're still being raped from '93. Sorry but true.

I'm happy to see Dawson around. But he's definitely someone who'd be used as cover for me.

Can't bare to see us use someone who can't play 40+ games as a key CB.

I want to see us find a CB partnership and stick with them for the year.

I agree I’d rather have a first choice starting pairing that I don’t worry about re fitness, but 35 year old Dawson got injured on a 3rd game in a week, following the ten men effort against Villa in midweek (5-5). It was fking madness to play him the next game, especially as it was home to Ipswich. And then to not even take him off at HT say with the game won.

I don’t know what my point is, I guess that he was fine until he was pushed too far, and maybe cos I was fooking livid with Karanka at the time and I want a chance to get it off my chest. Fortunately we have a coach that has for example paid attention to the size of the pitch, and is a hands-on coach, so hopefully will be more in tune with when to use the players he has wisely.

On the evidence of the Palace game he's still our best CB. His injury was the start of our collapse last season. At his age he may not be able to sustain it but if he continues as he did on Friday he should be in the side.

Totally agree, I get the fitness concerns, but beyond that he's the best organiser, the best passing range from out the back, the best aerially & the best reader of the game.

He plays alongside Milosevic for me.

Genuinely don't get the Sky Sports references, there's no over analysis here, he's pound for pound the best CB we have.

He's our best CB when he's fit enough to play.

Can't under estimate the importance of a CB duo at this level. Brining Daws in to play a couple of games, to then have to replace him, for him to then come back in and repeat..

Will see the same issues arise at the back as last season. Inconsistency because we'll be using about 4/5 different partnerships.

Sorry, but he takes his place as cover for me.

While I think Dawson when fit, healthy and on form is better than Figs (currently), no way am I buying he is better than Milo.

But that first line is the problem we have at cb, both Dawson and Figs have struggled to stay fit since arriving here.

Dawson has always been a great footballer. His talent and eye for the game wont change.

What has changed is his body and his ability to play the game consistently at a decent level.

The chance of him playing a full season ever again are as remote Jack Hobbs getting his good knee back.

Daws still has his part to play but I can only see it being the odd cameo here and there. Best defender we've got on his day though.

As per the other thread, he has to start against teams who bang it long.

Purrim out to graze, he's had the millionaire money without being class.

He's a very lucky chap imo.

Dawson and Milosevic to start for me. The value of experience cannot be overstated.

Dawson's seeming inability to play high numbers of matches any more gives Worrall and Figueiredo all the chance they should need to make the spot their own.

Agreed. It's such an odd way to have a dig.

Can't be arsed with Dawson and Fig getting injured again and disrupting the defence so Milo and Robinson for me. Milosevic is obvious and Robinson whilst alright, can also be trusted to stay fit.

A centre half partnership is so important.

Anyone else go mental when he scored today? Brilliant to see him on the scoresheet today.

Pleased to see him on the scoresheet. His commitment can’t be faulted and that goal was well deserved.
