If I understand correctly, Dawson is unlikely to play this season.

An injury or two ruling players out for half or the entire season are not uncommon, but you seem to have suffered a St Bartholomew night this year: Byram for the whole season, Soudani practically for the whole season, Dawson, Hefele and Figueiredo for half a season, that's five major injuries.

Post-match and post-injury rehabilitation are essential for avoiding long-term injuries. I would ask your medical team some questions.
Also Grabban since January has not been available and if it is true he is out now is another reason why our season is done.

You mean the new manager who had inherited a side which had their pre-season & early season with another managers/setup?

My experience is sports is limited to card games, but I'm pretty sure how one trained two years ago is more or less irrelevant to this year's injuries.

Two years? AK inherited a side which trained with a different manager a few months before him

There's loads of factors to it, but ultimately it all comes back to a total lack of consistancy in the same players at the club working under the same manager.

It's a balance, but for far too long ours has been on the wrong side of change.

On tonight Worrall is ahead of him for the league. Can do the job for us now and again.

Not sure Worrall did much wrong tbh thought he played well. But there will be a certain back 4 they will be in for training for set-pieces.

Figs had a few tough moments also when he came on.

It cements Milo is number one for me. Looked assured.

    1. Milo
    2. Figs
    3. Robinson
    4. Worrall
    5. Dawson

Milo and Figs should be starting every game when fit. It's a choice so obvious there's not really much else to say about it.

It seemed obvious that Figs is behind in his fitness. He will get better as pre- season progresses.

did figs get injured again, how the heck is he still behind in his fitness. daws experience will still have a role to play even as a backup , worrall can go on loan to notts.

For me Daws & Watson's inclusions show that figs wants some vocal leaders on the pitch. They're pretty much the only two we really have in the side at the mo who are like that, Daws more so obv.

Figueiredo gets a lot of slack on here, way more than Worrall.

When Joe is poor it’s because he’s shit, when Figueiredo is poor there’s always a reason/excuse behind it.

Milosevic first choice is the only absolute no-brainer at centre-half as far as I can see.

Very decent cameo last night. Swept everything up nicely & his commanding presence was evident when they picked up in the last third of the game.

CB starting slots for WBA are gonna be very interesting.

    Daws put a marker down.

This is what you want from Dawson. He ain't gonna play every game, but he will be seriously useful just coming off the bench for games and being a tank in the air. He did it in a few games last season.

Worrall, Figs &Dawson are fighting for the slot alongside Milo. I don’t think Worrall did anything spectacularly wrong to harm his claims either.
It will be interesting to see who gets the gig next week against Real Sociedad

If Daws could play every week I'd have him in the side over Figs. Mainly for his vocality.

Then I stop & think, and realize that Figs hasn't got the best injury record either.

Is cycling both gonna be enough, or should we buy another qulaity CB?

I wouldn't be surprised if we ended up moving a couple of CB's on.

Linked with Raillo again the other day in Spanish press. £3.5m release fee from Mallorca.

Agree, Im just mildly uncomfortable watching Worrall playing out from the back. Looks like he's got a mistake in him. Solid enough defensively though.

    Fine margins in the position.

Dawson is the best ‘ball playing’ defender we have, shame he can’t play every week now days

It's a good point about Dawson's range of passing. As we saw last season we were a better side with him. Whilst I dont expect him to play two games a week, hopefully he can stay fit this year.
