They won't be. We were saying similar things last year - and they beat us and it started our (relative) demise. I have a nasty suspicion that we will fuck it up again.

'Derby are close to agreeing a new deal with leading scorer Kris Commons.

"We are very close," said chief executive Tom Glick.

Clough added: "Kris has said that he and his representatives haven't spoken to anybody else at this stage. Kris and his agent were very specific with figures and things and we are very close to reaching that figure now."

Commons' current contract is up in the summer.'

    That's him gone then.

The main thing is NLN is still at their helm. He was great playing for Forest but he has been shit managing in the Football League. I've loved reading his anti-Forest statements to the media, watching the video of Kneegate etc. They could not have a better manager, he is perfect for us.

A wounded animal sometimes has a surprising reserve of strength to defend itself when cornered... to be treated with caution, this game. We should go to play our game though and take it to 'em.

I bet Commons signs a new contract this week to lift spirits before we play them

That's being very harsh on Nige, he's had a tough job to do at Derby at for all their moaning they are still 9 points above the relegation drop zone. As a forest fan I've lost pretty much all respect for him though, behaved like a brat.

Wiki - "Labour Chancellor Denis Healey described being attacked by Dennis Howe (at the time the Conservative shadow Chancellor) as "like being savaged by a dead sheep".Nevertheless, when Healey was featured on This Is Your Life in 1989, Howe appeared and paid warm tribute to Healey. The two have been friends for many years."

A bit like us and Boycie & Marino Rahmberg really. Hahahahahaha

I see derby are doing their usual derisory bids and unsettling other teams players again.

all for a 29 year old division 3 player.

Hope Notts continue to stand their ground on this. The fact Derby have pissed them off means that other clubs might come in for him, I think Davies would be okay at this level so can see why they're interested.

Shouldn't Forest throttle back slightly for Saturday as this would be the area of maximum pressure in their climb up through the atmosphere?

Also, having cleared NPower, the next stop would surely be Barclay's bank??

Even the most optimistic Derby fan I know is angry with NLN and GSE today. He's seriously concerned that they will continue to plummet like a stone.

It only takes a second to score a goal.

Would anyone else have survived the run he has without losing their job? He's gone on a winless run long enough to get sacked 3 times at some clubs.

I'm sure his name has nothing to do with it....

Even if NLN goes, I can't see who they'd get in to stop the decline, or how they'd get anyone decent in. They'll probably scrape out of it like last year though.

    sportchippers Robin Chipperfield

RT @Tricky_Tree33 Nigel Clough was asked at a recent press conference how close he was to a winning team, he replied about 15 miles.
