I loved that Ireland badge- why on Earth they felt the need to replace it with the dour thing they have now is beyond me.
Ah, Opel or Vauxhall? Audi or Auto union? Sorry, just thinking out loud about alternative branding.
In Ireland, the Cars are all branded as Opel, not Vauxhall (even though they are right-hand-drive).
Auto-Union was bought by Volkswagen alongside the old NSU company in the 1960s, and both were joined together to make the modern-day Audi company.
The „Four-Circles“ badge on every modern Audi is the original Auto-Union insignia.
