According to this he's a 'Left Wing Back.' http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jonathan_Parr

Is that like a left back? Can he play left back?

Think that if this rumour is true that we might not extend Bertrands deal? by the sound of the article they expect that he is most likely going to sign for us, if he does join and we extend Bertrands loan deal, will he be a bench warmer?

Yes, but generally Wing Back's have more of an attacking role, with the wingers pushed forwards, not used much in the modern game, Argentina used to play with two wing backs if i remember with Gutierrez being one,

Parr (22) plays left back, but is versatile, can play as winger and on either side. Offensive, hits good crosses. Good engine. #forest #nffc

He's (knut) a good player on football manager by which i judge all players I've not seen or heard of.

Another article stating it, Blackpool apparently wanted him.
Jonathan Parr has previously been wanted by Blackpool. The club tried to get a lease in the summer, but Aalesund refused to release him.
Could be a good buy, wonder how much he would cost?

Very promising, although we had some other lads on trial in recent months who amounted to nothing. It seems, from reading the article, that he started out as a left winger so that may be a promising sign as I'm sure he could stand in in the absence of any natural left wingers at Forest. Perhaps he'd be a useful guy to come in to attract Husseklepp?

Doesn't sound like a very norwegian name. Is he half english or something?

Anyway we shouldn't turn down a left winger who can cross, even if he only has one leg.

It's been while since we had a norwegian in the team. We should get one for old time's sake.

I notice he got capped earlier this year. OK, a norwegian cap is little better than a scottish cap, but it means he probably does have both legs.

Nope, doesn't automatically mean we're not going to try and extend the deal with Bertrand.

Hmmm.... I thought "Rock and Roll Mercenaries" was better!

I made up my mind from viewing society from that angle. That's where I'm from and there's where I've made my decisions from. That's why I believe in socialism“

    Yes.

The original John Parr lives in a village about 5 miles up the road from me.

Einar Jan Aas, Kjetil Osvold, Lars Bohinen, John Olav Hjelde, Alf Inge Haland and Ståle Stensaas are our previous Norwegian players, so you're right, it's about time we had another one!

The first two were before my time but I have to say I have absolutely no recollection of Stensaas...

Plays for my "local" Norwegian top flight club Ålesund... He´s pretty good! Hell of a lot better than Lynch. I guess we would have to pay around 1.2 million for him...

Well, I was going to compare him to Bertrand, but reminded myself that I haven´t seen enough AAFK games this season to do so... I guess they´re pretty similar.

Translation for those that don't understand what the fcuk the article said:

Jonathan Parr (22) may already be sold this week from Aalesund to Nottingham Forest. Left wing-back in England this week to play closer to a deal.
    - I am here to look at the circumstances, it is useful to both parties. The plan is to be here until Friday. There is much to fall into place, but I had not gone here if it had not been relevant to the transition, "said Jonathan Parr to VG Nett.

    Big club

Parr went to Nottingham on Monday, and Tuesday he was involved in an internal struggle in the Championship club on the club's arena, the legendary City Ground. Parr went over with approval from the club director Henrik Hoff, and there is little doubt that the English are serious about their interest.

    AP reader:
Parr is never in the world worth 20 million as long as he plays for AaFK.

    - I've got a good impression. It is a great club. The advantage of having been here is that it will be easier to make a decision later, "says Parr, who may want to go over with her partner from Aalesund on the transition will happen.

AP know that Nottingham Forest on several occasions has studied the former Lightning player, and that they decided after the season ends in Norway to make an attempt to retrieve Parr. This week, the transition become a reality.

Jonathan Parr still again one year contract with Aalesund, but is very keen on the game in England is already the New Year off. The clubs must first agree on transfer fee. To Aalesund Parr may be the fourth significant player from the first-elleveren disappearing.

    Four years in AaFK

    - Aalesund have accepted that Jonathan has traveled, and he is there to sign a deal with Nottingham Forest. We definitely work to make this happen, "said his agent Jim Solbakken told VG Nett.

    - This is a product of the club scoutingvirksomhet in Norway. They have been with Jonathan for a while, "said Solberg.

Jonathan Parr went from Lyn of Aalesund after the 2006 season. The Art Nouveau town, he has played in four regular seasons, but has gradually been moved back on the court - from the left wing to left back.

This year he started 25 games for the tango jerseys and also managed to debut for the Norwegian A-team. Next step for Parr may be a contract with Nottingham Forest at level two in England, a club that has historically taken many Norwegians.

Previously, both Einar Jan Aas, Kjetil Osvold, Lars Bohinen, John Olav Hjelde, Alf Inge Haland and Ståle Stensaas been in the club.
