    Default Lee Carsley...

    ...released by Everton today.

Exactly what we need, in my opinion: a bit of malice in the centre of the park...

Can we have a merged thread for all of these topics?

"The 34-year-old, who has been at Everton for six years, will search for a club in the East Midlands in order to move closer to his family. "

He'll probably go back to Derby.

Derby looks the most likely bet, but I'd hope we were in for him too.

Decent player, but I just worry about his age. If we were to offer a 1 year contract then I would be happy.

Not sure about his wages though.

Would be a great signing. In my opinion he is the most underrated player in the premiership.

Always bosses the midfield and the Everton fans are very fond of him. He dosn't strike me as the sort of player to cause trouble or just see out a final pay day.

David Moyes offered him a deal to stay at Everton even at 34. Could have 3 years left in him at championship level.

With him wanting to come to the East Midlands for family reasons it's a rare opportunity for us to get a player who really should be playing in the premiership.

I bet he'll go to Derby though.

    On the BBC Website :

Birmingham have signed Lee Carsley on a free transfer from Everton after the midfielder rejected a new deal to stay at Goodison Park. (The Birmingham Mail, 1355)
