How much wood would a Lockwood lock if a Lockwood could lock wood?

Does that mean we're getting new cover at left-back, or are we going to push James Reid into contention?

Must be true, it's in the NEP

Beattie denial on there as well.

Joking aside it sounds like Jim Brennan is playing well and could be available on the cheap.

''On September 8, 2006, it was announced that Brennan will be heading to Toronto to join the city's new MLS team Toronto FC for the 2007 season, becoming the first player in club history.* He also became the first Canadian to score for Toronto FC, registering a goal off a free kick against the Columbus Crew on 26 May 2007. This goal subsequently became a Sierra Mist Goal of the Week. Brennan went on to play 27 games, all of them starts, for Toronto FC, the most of any player. He earned a reputation as Toronto FC's "Iron Man," as he managed to play many of his games despite a rib injury, and looked as though he would go on to play every match of the season. Unfortunately, a knee injury prevented Brennan from achieving this feat. Brennan retained the captaincy for the 2008 season, and nearly managed to score in his team's opening match.

Does Moloney only play right back or can he play left back as well?

Either way, full backs are an area in need of strengthening - decent full backs who can get forward will make a big difference, just look at when we had Brennan and Louis-Jean together as an example.

    Beat me to it...

    "
Nottingham Forest confirmed today that they have accepted a bid from Colchester United for Matt Lockwood.

The 31 year old left back joined Forest last summer after nine years with Leyton Orient and made 12 appearances in the promotion campaign.

By "relegation battle", do you mean 7th, 12th or 14th?

Bit of a shame really, as I saw him play for Orient and he looked a great player. But it was not to be for him at Forest. He was never gonna displace Jules.

Personally, I didn't rate him, thought he made some shocking sloppy mistakes whilst he was with us, quite releaved he has gone, there is no way he would have got a look in now we are in the championship... however... my boyfriend watched lockwood at orient since the start (even though hes a forest supporter) and said he was a class player, took loads of free kicks and pens, so I dont think he will be very happy hes gone!
    But good luck to him

Better positioning than Bennett, much better on the ball, a much more natural football player.

Unfortunately got injured early on and then came the abuse from the boo boys, the abuse he got was one of the most shameful moments ever experianced as a Forest fan. Wasnt given a fair crack of the whip and I am sorry to see us waste a talent such as him.

I am sure he will go on to be a massive hit at Colchester and he will be another 'one who got away'.

Must also be commented that his attitude was exempleray and he never once moaned or whinged about the pathetic way he was treated by some of our fans and never kicked up a fuss about not being in the team.

    Start of the season
It looked as though Lockwood would be favoured over Bennett.

    End of season

Bennett is player of the season, scores a vital goal to clinch promotion. Lockwood is on his way out.

I know who deserves the left back spot

We may be looking for 2 Left backs if Bennett starts the season like he did before Lockwood arrived.

I do feel for Lockwood, he has been quite unlucky what with Bennett playing as he has done and getting injured at the start of the season.

Having said that when he did get his chance he didn't impress me a great deal so probably the best move for him and the club.

Good luck to him though because he seems like a really nice guy.

    I wouldn't go that far.

We definetly need to bring in another left back, but with Bennett playing Championship football at Forest after being named player of the season, its not going to be as easy as some would think to take the spot off him.
