Awesome, I love that album, but it makes me feel a bit maudlin, and Camden is full of complete arseholes.

Oi! Camden is full of drug dealers, gonks and scenesters I'll have you know. The complete arseholes go out in Islington.

And 1977 isn't their debut. :P It is a mint album, though.

I was in Camden Town on saturday, it is a very nice place as far as I am concerned. There is a nice pub there called 'The Dolphin' or something...

I love that album! Don't like the 'secret track' where they are all throwing up though...

I like Camden. Best part of Londoninium if you ask me.

Plus, it's the district of my birth

Gig is at the Roundhouse - which is a fantastic venue.

    I now have tickets.

    First full-length album though, wasn't Trailer like a 6 track mini-album / EP?

Remember when 1977 came out, 1996 wasn't it? Loved it so much! Solid record... none of their other albums came close!

Don't think so, it has 12 or 13 tracks I believe...none of which are very good.

Come out of the tube station, walk 50 meters and you're in the Roundhouse.

    No intermingling required.

    Au contraire, Rodders, au contraire!

The original version had seven songs, three of which were tickety-boo (Uncle Pat even being used as the theme for a Heineken advert featuring some stocking clad tart on a barstool), though some b-sides for the singles were included on US versions of the E.P, bringing the total to eleven tracks.

They're headlining the free Middlesbrough music festival if anyone is interested.

Did anyone else like their (allegedly) last proper album, The Twilight of the Innocents?

Very dark themes & that's why I liked it. The album is named after the final track:

tell me the story of the boy who lived in hell
    trapped in silence
no-one there to keep him sane
    clandestine pain
    total absence
    coming back from the dead
    into a world of sorrow
    making no sense
hear the voices in his head, see through his eyes

pass through the gate of the banished citadel
    no turning backwards
pray for mercy, to be free, an unchained soul
    disembodied
    when are you coming home?
    you've been away too long
    too far you've wandered
through the shadows and the dark depths of your mind

i'm still breathing , my heart's still beating
i'm still breathing , my heart's still beating
i'm still breathing , my heart's still beating
i'm still breathing , my heart's still beating

Beneath the arches of a cold and distant sky
    held in rapture
infinite number , i am left to wonder why
    forever after
through the darkest days of doubt
    your soul denied these warnings
    took no notice
disbelieving with the end in clearest sight

i'm still breathing , my heart's still beating
i'm still breathing , my heart's still beating
