New Yorkers do like to boo.
Ludicrous considering he was clearly injured. He had a similar issue in the earlier rounds. Though I'm not quite sure (other than the impact on ball toss, and just general pain) what a left shoulder injury would do with a right-handed player's serve (insert 1-hander line here)

There are strict rules over what they can call a timeout for - as opposed to treatment between changeovers. Fitness/conditioning related issues such as cramp aren't (which is why Murray had to have his thigh massaged at a changeover in Mallorca) nor are pre-existing medical conditions (so again Murray vs Querrey in 2017 Wimbledon, because he had the hip injury since losing in the French semis, no timeouts, he had to continue as it was or retire).

So Novak's shoulder was clearly "better" from the earlier issue or he wouldn't have been allowed the trainer.

Medvedev getting the strapping in the first set against Stan, on his thigh (and then off two games later) is a bit baffling.

Murray reaches his first semi final since French Open 2017 - and wins his first title (beat Wawrinka in 3 sets). Up to about 125 in the world now.

Edmund beats Lopez. One up in the semi. So that's one up and all to play for in the doubles once Rafa completes his routine victory against Evans.

Edmund is shit, but he has done very well this week. Evans is very talented, but still doesn't seem to have the mental edge to push at the top 20, which his talents deserve. Playing style wise, he's not dissimilar from Henman, but more comfortable staying back.

Would we be better with Andy? Probably not, is the honest answer. We do have a world class doubles pairing, so we can lose a singles match and not be out of it, and Edmund (higher ranked than Andy, so would be the No1) would have done no better against Rafa than Dan did, thus leaving it to the doubles anyway. Leon Smith has been spot on with this one.

Unsurprising Canada have done so well. Shapo has come on leaps and bounds since taking on Youzhny as his coach (where previously his decision making was probably his main weakness, going for winners too often), Pospisil is a class player, and they have Felix (though he's injured) and Raonic as well.

Spain will still win it though, home advantage may help a bit, but the depth in their squad is amazing. World number 1 clearly helps, and Bautista/Carreno as their 2nd singles players, with Feli Lopez (still very good at both singles and dounles) should be enough for most other countries.

Unlucky Jamie Murray and Izabella Scorupco.

This Pique Cup is good stuff. Like it.

    Go on, Canada.

Nadal was a good bet to draw level on slams with Federer at the French Open.

Now that might never happen. Global pandemic sparks mixed emotions for Fed.

It's quite poetic, really, that, isn't it?!
I don't wish anyone ill but that's delicious!

By "relegation battle", do you mean 7th, 12th or 14th?

For once, Nick Kyrgios can sit back and have the upper hand.

Probably wasn't the tennis but all the clubbing and playing basketball which did it.

Coric and Djokovic have positive tests but no symptoms, which would only have been picked up by them getting tested. As I suspect a lot of cases are now.

Dimitrov playing when he was ill on Saturday wasn't the best move though, should have pulled out and isolated like everyone else should.

Certainly asked for it. Those nightclub videos are ridiculous.
