    Cringeworthy 'presentation ceremony' afterwards.

I suddenly realised I was missing the end to an epic World Cup game so turned over.

    Who won?

I think they should've made them play on under lights on centre court until one of them either won, or died.

As great a physical endurance battle that was, it was so incredibly boring.

I'd imagine casual tennis fans would find it boring.

I loved every second of it (that I saw - pretty much everything from 30 all! lol)

not really a fair comparison is it.

i don't really understand how you cannot find it entertaining though.

It was put that it was one of the greatest sporting contests of all time, so anything is fair game as a comparison.

I don't have much to add to what I've said, there was barely any break points, hardly knife edge stuff. I have a taste for sporting events that unfold slowly with subtle twists and turns, but this didn't grab me.

it was one of the greatest sporting contests of all time, but not because of those competing or because of the spectacle but because of the tenacity of human endeavour and the freak nature of the result. the entertainment was in the 'who dares blink' and the level of concentration they had to muster up for hours and hours yesterday afternoon.

that was the entertainment. it doesn't just have to be great skill that people find entertaining, otherwise why would people bother watching lower-division football?

Skill level is important when talking about the greatest sporting events of all time, it can't solely be on the freak nature of the result.

Would Motherwell 6-6 Hibernian in the SPL at the tail end of last season be considered among the best matches of all time? The scoreline was strange.

There wasn't a whole lot of daring to blink. Both players had comfortable service games for the vast majority of the fifth set. Yes, it was great endurance they kept going and certainly nothing like we've seen before, I agree, but it wasn't compelling viewing to watch them hold serve to love/15.

It's a ludicrous argument anyway, it's purely a matter of opinion. I've spoken to a few people today about it who are of the same opinion as me, but there's thousands of others who loved the spectacle. I'm glad people enjoyed it.

not the best match of all time, one of the greatest matches of all time. semantics... this was great because of the attritional nature and the great endurance. motherwell-hibernian was one of the greatest comebacks ever, one of the greatest results of all time.

but best of all time - that has to have all elements
