Thread: Cloughie is going back to Derby.

Default Cloughie is going back to Derby.

While Forest fans eagerly await the City Centre side street erection of a Brian Clough statue, Derby County are planning a life size statue at Pride Park so football fans on match day can have a reminder of the great man.

    Nice short link

    Norris?

Did we not have his services for 17 years?

Why oh why do we not have a statue at the ground!!

Because Forest don't seem to deem it necessary... why don't you setup an online petition about it?

It would certainly be nice to have a tribute to the great man at the ground. I suspect there will be one if the new stadium is eventually built.

There should be a tribute to both Clough and Taylor at the ground.

I'd expect the club to say the stand named after him is enough.

Was thinking more along the lines of the A453.......enough sods get stuck in traffic there so as to appreciate the view of the great man himself.

Bit too close to the chavs in Capital One corner for my liking.

Especially those 'mad for it' types!

I've been a LOT slacker with correcting people lately.

I may start doing it again!

I wonder if I can get Anatoli 'Meldrewed' to a greater degree!

Why is it many people still call this stand The Executive Stand?

Derby County have already renamed the A52 "Brian Clough Way" and staged a match called the Brian Clough Trophy in his honour. The one game alone generated 100k + for good causes. And they won!!

Did Man U not rename the Main Rd past Old Trafford after Sir Matt Busby.

Forest as a club have simply not done enough in recognition of his services to the club.

In terms of achievements/resources we had the greatest football manager in history.

Imagine the buzz of approaching the ground and being greeted with a statue of Old Big Ed!

From a club/money prospective is it not a huge opportunity missed (Yet again) ? Many visiting teams would bring fans who's main reason for coming would be to be pictured with a statue? (Just like Robin Hood at the Castle)

Shambles forest, but no more than we have come to expect.

I will see the statue on my way to the ground. Just after I turn left out of my flat and walk down the bottom of 'Brian Clough Way' into town.
