    Default Adam Newbold

Well, I must admit, I had my doubts about Newbold, but from last night he's clearly a big, strong, trget-man style player. A natural striker and a decent finisher.

The only question is , where will Calderwood play him? My moneys on a winger ala Grant Holt.

I would guess in the reserves mostly in his favoured role and gradually give him more experience from the bench. He seems to have leap frogged Sinclair which is a relief.

Early to say, but he looks like he has more to offer than Sinclair.
I hope Newbold will be on the bench, and then just bring him on..He looked good upfront last night when he came on.

Still green , when he was put upfront to partner Earnie in the notts friendly in pre-season , by all accounts , he froze and looked lost.

He won't be playing a lot more unless we get another Morecombe side. He admittedly looks good and I think he will do well for the club and it is looking like we need someone like him upfront as you said the big target man.

I just cannot see him being played though disappointingly. As for where will he play a striker.

Am I Right in thinking that he's the first player to score on his Debut since Bryan Roy?

Sinclair and Thornhill both did, I believe.

I don't think either did, did they? I know Sinclair scored in his second game (Gillingham) and I think Thornhill may have scored in his first league game...

Actually, didn't Sinclair score against Chester this time last year?

Thornhill didn't score until his seventh appearance for the club, in the league match against Leyton Orient.

Sinclair scored on his fourth appearance, it was against Gillingham.

Impey got on the scoresheet three minutes into his debut against Walsall, which finished 3-3.

Yeah, he looked lost that game. Really struggled to get into the game. He certainly put himself about but just couldn't quite get the pace.

He scored in the penalty shootout, the winning penalty I think.

When did McGugan score his first goal? I seem to rememeber that was pretty quick.

Against Huddersfield when we won 5-1 I think...I was there and it was a belter.

    Wasn't his debut though.

I think the Independent actually got it wrong the other day. In their three players to watch sidebar they claimed he scored on his debut. Don't know why that is.

I loved that Huddersfield game. I had my Town supporting mate sat next to me, by the third goal everyone around us had sussed him out and the piss was taken out of him. Good banter like, nothing sinister.

Then this New Years Day he sat next to me again. Last minute winner.

I've got to bring him to more Forest games.

Indeed, his debut came from the bench in the 0-0 draw at Swansea in August 2007.

The 5-1 game was enjoyable...mainly because it was one of the only Forest games that I've ever been to where I could relax and enjoy the spectacle such was the ease of the win. I think we were something like 4-0 up at half time.

Nope. He made his professional début on 17 October 2006 in the JPT win at Gillingham.
