    Default Going out Song

What's the last song everybody puts on just before heading out the door to go and get smashed? (As in the drunk sense not the sense.)

Main one for me, since Uni days:

    Primal Scream - Loaded

Not specific enough. And you go out in your car to get drunk??

Everyone has one tune that gets turned up very loud before leaving the house....

I know it's old and cheesy, but I usually can't resist putting of "Feeling So Real" by Moby, then bouncing around the room like I'm at a 90s warehouse rave.

At the minute, I quite like listening to the new Kid Rock song about Sweet Home Alabama.

That has a riff taken from some (possibly cack) 70's track - but I can't for the life of me remember what it is.

(and I don't mean the Sweet Home Alabama bit - but the rest of it).

They do if they're women or homosexuals.

Sweet Home Alabama is the worst song ever made.

That Kid Rock song pushes it close though.

That would be Warren Zevon's "Werewolves of London".

Given that you go out, play dominoes and drink a pint of mild before coming home, I'm fairly certain this thread is of no use to you.

I'm In Love With My Car - Queen.

Agree with Alan, only women or queers would actually have a "going out" song, as the whole notion is frighteningly naff.

However, the beautiful gravel voice of Roger Taylor is listened to by me all the time, going out or staying in.

Which itself sounds suspiciously like Sweet Home Alabama, minus the twiddly guitar bit!

Both of which were ripped off from Your Time Is Gonna Come, off Led Zep 1...

I'm too young to know that Though I've been meaning to listen to Led Zep for so long but never got around to it.

You're a year younger than me, you cheeky bugger!

You need Led Zep, but first you should really start at the origins: Robert Johnson, if you can tolerate the scratchy recordings.

Anyone who's ever loved a rock record owes their enjoyment to this man. A good few Led Zep songs were stolen directly from him - both lyrics and riffs.

Fair do's... sometimes I have two pints of mild.

Going out songs are still for women and gayers, though. *My understanding of the concept was it was for 'getting ready' - which takes aforementioned sectors of society longer than your traditional shower, shit, shave approach most straight men have.

Of course, with Tutts being a horrendous mincer, I dare say a soundtrack might be appropriate to accompany his skincare regime, and light plucking and plumping.

On a Robert Johnson tip; Robert Rankin's latest book is amusingly based around his music I downloaded his works recently but haven't gotten around to listening to it all yet.
