    Default Notts County

Notts County are set to sign two new strikers, ahead of Saturday's first game of the season at Bradford City.

Former Bolton striker Delroy Facey and Team Bath front-man Sean Canham are to move to the League Two club, subject to passing a medical.

Canham will cost Notts a nominal fee - the first transfer fee that the Magpies have paid for four and a half years.

Manager Ian McParland told BBC Radio Nottingham: "I felt we needed a stronger presence up front."

Wonder what Spencer Weir-Daley thinks reading that comment?

I'd like to see county do a little better possibly push for a playoff spot, it's about time we had some success in Nottm.

We had some success last season.

Success for County would be the dog making it to Crufts.

A player who has failed to live up to the potential he showed in his early years. Bolton seemed to rate him quite highly and he's managed to stay in professional football based on that reputation.

The fact that he's played for 8 clubs in the four years since he left Bolton, managing just 32 goals in 149 appearances tells you all you need to know. He's a journeyman clinging onto a professional career by the skin of his teeth.

    A talentless Heskey.

My flat mate once declared he'd get 20 England caps when he was still at Huddersfield. Naturally, I have laughed at him many times since, but never quite so loud as when I read this news!

Oh, and the fact that Gillingham showed him the door when they only have 16 fit, experienced professionals indicates how highly they rated him.

Delroy, no-one is better than you. Not in the complimentary sense.

We could have a go at that. It might be a little too much to ask of Counteh. Unless you mean the Blue Square Premier.

Facey looks more like a Chesterfield suited player to me. Maybe just not old enough yet.

They signed Forrester as well though, maybe they're following your lead in buying a ton of strikers!
