Was about to start a new thread, but a quick search unearthed one that I shall resurrect.

Okay, so I was hoping to get some tips from other people and offer a few of my own. Some reasoning with the tips would be appreciated.

I'll start with the biggest match of the weekend: Forest V Derby

First player booking: Looks like Betvictor are the only ones offering this at the moment. First thought was Keogh, but at odds of 9 I'll pass. Best value for me is Antonio at odds of 21. He's shown his eagerness to track back this season, but also been caught out a few times by being a little too enthusiastic with his strength. Good value at those odds. As an alternative, Chris Martin at odds of 15 is a good shout. He got 8 bookings and 1 red last season and is often at the heart of conflict.

First goal scorer: For me this is Lansbury at odds of 12 with Bet365 He scored roughly 1 in 4 games for us last season. I suspect that Pearce will start him in midfield and he will be the one given license to go forward the most. Not great odds, but a worth a punt as a Forest fan for me.

    Bournmouth V Rotherham

For me, this is a Bournemouth win at odds of 1.8 with Betvictor. We saw the quality Bournemouth have when they played against us and it was a miracle we got to half time at 0:0. Their last game was a very credible away 1:1 draw with high flying Norwich, who will perhaps turn out to be Forest's main threat this season. Rotherham on the other hand lost 0:2 at home to Brentford, and on paper don't have the quality of Bournemouth in their ranks. Personally, I think odds of 1.8 is generous.

Would definitely welcome and thoughts and tips if anyone is interested in such things

Some good work there. Bournmouth looks a shoe-in and liking 21's on Antonio. That must mean his 'Anytime Booking' is a good shout too.

Actually listened to the Bournemouth game on their online player. They were totally in control, at half time, they had over 70% possession! Then it all fell apart in the last minute when Rotherham equalised.

Oh well, such is football. Today is the match that matters. I trust Pearce has got the team prepared.

I too plumped for Bournemouth. Won't be afraid of putting money on them again in the future, they're a good side and will win a lot of matches but will represent good odds because they're Bournemouth, not Forest, Derby, Norwich or Cardiff.

What were the odds of there being a sending off in our game at the weekend?

I got one of those enhanced bet offers with the odds of a sending off being bumped up to 3/1 I think it was. So I imagine the actual odds would have been slightly less than that. I was a fool as well and didn't take it!

Think it was 9/4 with sky bet.

We are 5/1 to win within the 90 minutes tonight at Spurs. Might be worth a few quid.

When I was young I went with a friend to a local point to point meeting. We kept betting on the horses with the highest odds (20/1 is better than 3/1) and wondered why we kept losing our half crowns.

I remember being in a bookies with a pal who is a big punter. There was a 6 horse race with the outsider at 100-1, I said that no horse can be that bad I'm having a bit of that. He snatched the tenner out of my hands and said I'm saving you from yourself you daft ****.
The horse won by about 6 lengths, it completely took the piss.
I don't know what laughed the loudest, the horse or my fucking mate.
