Just watched the trailer on the website. Goddamn, goosebumps man. Fallout 3 is my favourite game of all time, this looks like it's gonna surpass it

Lad needs to get his priorities right.

Plenty of time for playing video games, post-coitus, whilst the woman's off making him a sandwich.

    That's right, isn't it?

That, or stick her on all fours in front of the TV. You can hip thrust and shoot people.

Yeah, it was hard enough playing one player on streets of rage without having someone try and put you off.

They could just put out a modernised version of F3/NV and it would be great and sell loads, but I'm hoping they'll pull off something a bit special with a few surprises thrown in. They did well keeping the game quiet though! We knew it was coming but not when. I wonder if the announcement was brought forward due to the leak by the person who posted they'd worked on the trailer on their CV? Still, all aboard the hype train.

I'd like to see vehicles in the new game... though that is a hell of an addition on top of what is in 3/NV. Part of the appeal is that you're wandering everywhere on foot and too many vehicles would be crap but the ability to maybe build a motorbike or a car out of scrap parts would be cool as fuck. Ambitious though.

I also hope they retain the depth and detail of story, characters, humour, the detail in the posters, furniture, music and the abilities/perks and character building etc etc

The most obvious things are improving the player movement and combat, I have no doubts about those.

    Can't bloody wait.

Gamebryo, Gamebryo never changes. But Bethesda always claim that it has.

Wouldn't want vehicles, would break some of the exploration aspect of the game imo.

Bit disappointed they haven't altered the game engine by the look of it. Still the same awkward character movements and telltale gliding when the dog moves in diagonals.Todd Howard (think that's his name) said they'll be using gamebyro (game engine they made nearly 15 bloody years ago!)for their next two games - skyrim, and presumably this so hopefully they'll ditch it on the next one.

Also pray they've sorted out their plot. Witcher makes Bethesda save the world games almost childish.

Been waiting for this announcement for fooking ages, betting on oct 23rd 2015 release. Think it's time to start avoiding game discussion now, already got some spoilers from analysis of the trailer.

Yeah I'm not expecting anything hugely groundbreaking but with current gen graphics and upgraded combat mechanics if they build a new story and world then that'll probably make for a great game.

New Vegas was one of my all time favourites, the amount of side missions and places to discover was ridiculous. Hope all the creatures look a lot better on next gen too but Bethesda's never really been massively about the graphics, bar Skyrim.

Graphics isn't my main concern, I hope the story is as good as fallout 3 and fallout new Vegas.

Oh man I had to stop watching the Fallout part, too much information, I want it all to be a surprise. Safe to say it looks RIDICULOUS though. Only 5 months to wait!

What did people think of this in the end?

I'd been looking forward to it for years, to the extent I bought the version which included the DLC (first time I've done that). Was massively under whelmed by it in the end.

The base game and some of the additions are great, but the story was so bland and the "radiant" quests so shallow and repetitive. Hoping the DLC has a decent story.

Pretty much the same. It was sort of NEARLY there just, like you say, lacking a little bit more content to really get stuck into. The DLC has been great for the previous 2 games so I'm hoping it will deliver. The crafting is a nice idea but ultimately is pretty pointless as it is detached from the gameplay. If they had taken it further and included Saints Row/GTA style turf wars, meaning you had to build up your settlements and arm your people (to make use of those 500 guns I have miraculously stored in 1 trunk), that would have been brilliant. They could take this game so much further.
