Just read the Forest Leicester preview on the Forest site, take a look at our side the last time we played them, obviously the season we went down...
Forest - Gerrard, Morgan, Melville, Doig, Curtis, Friio (Evans 56), Powell, Commons (Harris 90), Rogers (Perch 70), Dobie, Taylor.
Subs not used: Doyle, Thompson
How on earth did we go down with a side that good eh?

Yeah, iv seen a couple of threads on this kind of thing before.
But yes, its a shockingly bad looking side. Although Friio, Rogers, Dobie and Harris all looked good(ish) on paper.
I dont think any of those players (at their quaity and age of then) would get in the team if now. Apart from Commons and Morgan for obvious reasons.
I'm not even sure Morgan will warrant his place when our injured lot come back.Originally Posted by Carvel
Can see Chambers moving into CB alongside Wilson, Perch at centre back and Cohen/McGugan to take CM.
I'm still utterly mystified as to how we were relegated from the old first division!!!
It was easy the players sat back collected their money and basicaly did not give a rats bottom for the club or fans, two games stick in my mind from that season, that should for ever be a lasting shame to the players who went on the field for Forest.....Coventry away and Plymouth at home.
why did we get relegated
easy... didnt win enough games
and a shite squad/team/manager

After reading that I'm actually feeling very happy with our current crop
Two of the most spineless performances ever by the reds. Only Col Utd away comes close!Originally Posted by sedgred

Although I do think Plymouth at home was the worst.
Our squad now is much better than then. Even though paul gerrard was a great keeper & i didnt mind Taylor..if i remember didnt he score in a 1-0?...even had Doyle on the bench...Melville wasnt bad defender too
I have been trying to forget that game for a long time. So poor, it hurt.Originally Posted by zicorice
All very poor games, but I think last seasons playoff debacle takes the prize for worst Forest display in History.
Having 8 put past us at Old Trafford, or 7 at Ewood park was more pleasurable than seeing Yeovil put 5 past a team devoid of effort.
Talk to me, Goose.
Yeah, I think the Yeovil defeat was the worst I've endured as a Forest fan, in terms of quality and pure emotional destruction.
Given that the stakes were so high, that we came so close and completely bollocksed it up to a team with a support a fraction of our own - that really stung.
The worst thing about the Yeovil game was that we were all taking victory for granted. *We were all making Wembley plans. *I still feel the pain of losing in the Playoffs to Sheff Utd. That game really hurt.
I think every Forest fan went through every emotion possible during that second-leg Yeovil game. I never want to experience a game like that again.
Difference between the two play off defeats was that the one to Sheff Utd was to a decent team, with history, well supported and obvious aspiration to be in the Premiership.
That game at the City Ground was Yeovils cup final. It's the high point of their history.
I know it makes no difference, but I think we maintained a little credibility after losing to Sheff Utd.
After Yeovil we became a true laughing stock
Morgan still doing the business.Originally Posted by Commons 8

Yep. and then I had to get back in the car with 2 Plymouth supporters for the 6 hour trip homeOriginally Posted by Marriboom!

Verbless sentences are not good. Only Dickens could get away with them. You can have my autograph though.
Next thought, why would anyone want your autograph? What have you achieved that marks you out as special?
For this adoption thing to work, we need you to work on the details. Don't get into cars with Plymouth fans.
He's got a rainbow hat, that makes him technically more of a worthwhile celebrity than Jade Goody.
