    Default Summer 2020 Transfer Window...

Hard to predict, cos we don't know where we'll be right now!

However, I'd like to think with the set up we have now, we'll be looking at different players depending on our situation.

I've questioned some of our transfer business. Some of it has really frustrated me at times, but we do address positions of need.

I suspect a continued French/African interest going forward, I think that's where Anigo/Modesto's specialism lies, and I think it suits English football well, in addition with a sprinkling of experience in this country.

Be interesting to see if we will revisit any players we've already been linked with.

Ibrahim Sissoko apparently didn't want to move mid-season.

We've been linked with the Mallorca's CB Raillo before and I think CB is an area we will certainly need to strengthen regardless of league status.

We're going to have to find a potential successor to Watson I think, and someone who can carry on Sow's work, as he can't manage so many games.

Another wide player too for sure...

Striker? you'd suspect we'll seek to add.

Difficult to say who we'll be looking at.

We will be targeting a much better calibre of player with the Sky £millions we get when we are promoted.

Do what Sheff Utd have done and keep the spine of the team whilst adding a bit of EPL quality in attack and midfield, and a few reliable consistent players for the squad.

I've grown to learn it's so hard to predict who can actually make the step-up. There's been plenty who have surprised and many to have surprisingly failed.

I think it was Bryan who said the other week, it's about styles and fitting into styles more than anything else. Hence why Sheff Utd are having great success.

I bet a lot of Sheff Utd players would look out of place in other teams, but in their system and style it's perfect. George Baldock... decent pace, reasonably strong, never stops running and over lapping, not great quality in delivery, but gets wide of his man and hits it often hard and low or pulls back. Simplicity in his play in a system that asks him to do one role again and again. Get up, get down, and get wide to get the ball in the box.

You could put most of Sheff Utd's team in Championship sides and they would look average.

Wilder really is doing an amazing job there.

Just imagine being in a market where you feel you have an advantage to get a deal done that you really want.

Been really interested in the French league for a while now but there is obvious reasons with Forest's connection now too. Claude Puel said this last month : "Ligue 1 has become a laboratory, a youth academy for the four leagues that are better than we are, England, Spain, Germany and Italy."

I would imagine we will look at a CB to compete with Figgy and Joe. Does Daws have another year in him as 4th choice.

Looking to France for speed ,power & some composure we could have a choice of CBs.

    Benoit Badiashile (Monaco)
Jean Marcelin (just signed for Monaco from Auxerre)
    Gabriel (Lille)
    Nicholas Cozza (Montpellier)
    Axel Disasi (Reims)
    Mohamed Simakan (Strasbourg)
    Alexander Djiku (Strasbourg)
    Wesley Fofana (St Etienne)
    Boubacar Kamara (Marseille)
    Malang Sarr (Nice)
    Bafode Diakite (Toulouse)
Maxence Lacroix (Sochaux in Ligue 2)
    * First 3 unlikely

    Physical all-round midfielder.

    Ibrahima Sissoko (Strasbourg)
Ibrahim Sangare (Toulouse) off the ball probably most like Samba Sow but better with it.
    Kouadio Kone (Toulouse)
    Abdoulaye Toure (Nantes)
    Ibrahim Diallo (Brest)

    Watson comp

    Baptiste Santamaria (Angers)
    Zaydou Youssouf (St Etienne)

I would recommend to forum administrators to lock all topics related to transfers of past, current, future.

OK, it's always a nice subject. But I am Greek and superstitious.

When in a fight I don't want to talk for other soldiers but mine.

There is only message to preach. Forest's players are the best. Promotion or not. Period

Ps. We fight in Greece for championship and Europa league. I don't give a shit for those not here. Our guys are the best. Our fans are the best and we will be there to stand by the players. Another period.

I'd rather get the manager tied into a long term contract before we start thinking about new players.

Without Sabri we could be looking at a new system, new philosophy and needing a different style of player.

Until we know where we are and who is in charge I'm not suggesting anyone.

Sabri is in a position of strength. I don't think a new deal will be done til the summer.

However, I think we're a club who now will have continuity regardless of the manager. That's why we now appoint 'head coaches'.

Radically different needs depending on circumstances. Will we have millions to spend on very good players or pennies to spend on Championship players? I think I'll wait and see.

Remember those who booked a coach for Wembley when we went ahead against Yeovil, of all teams.

I agree, theres no need to get distracted with contract talks now and I sense all parties are professional enough to see the season out and evaluate in May.

How many times is there a clamour to give a manager a new contract and it always goes tits up directly afterwards.

Leave it tilll the end of the season, best for all parties surely?

I know it's purely academic at the moment Bryan, but you've come up with some impressive research nonetheless.

I suspect they've already agreed different deals based on where we finish, hence the lack of concern on both parts. Even if we lose in the playoffs it's difficult to see this season as anything but a success, with the summer window in which to make a good go next year.

Our recruitment needs some serious review before the next window opens.

We have yet again bloated the squad with players who are unable to step up when called upon. We are at a stage where we should only bring in players with real quality who are better than someone already in a starting 11 spot.

Last night was poor, but there’s some extreme overreactions to players making their debuts. I know the good folk of ltlf can fully judge a player based on one game, but this has to be a record.

Bong though was atrocious. Iíve seen pub-team footballers on a Sunday morning, playing with a hangover the size of Greater Manchester, display more athleticism than he did last night.

He was absolutely blowing out his arse before half an hour had been played.

I get he hasnít played much, but there has to be a minimum standard of physical fitness, doesnít there?

ĄI believe in socialism because it seems more humanitarian, rather than every man for himself and 'I'm alright jack' and all those arsehole businessmen with all the loot. I made up my mind from viewing society from that angle. That's where I'm from and there's where I've made my decisions from. That's why I believe in socialismď

Not really Rav. Jenks has been here since the Summer and was awful & cost 2m.

Also, the Jan window is to sign players like Shorey who come straight in and contribute from the off. Like Robinson has done at WBA. Bong looked bollocksed very early.

Jenks was ok. He certainly wasn’t the worst. Worrall had a poor game, Yates was a waste of a shirt and Lolley couldn’t cross a ball all night. What was the excuse when we lost against Birmingham with the regulars?

Lack of good signings to replace the regulars with.

Jenkinson was by far and away the worst of the bunch last night. Bong will get the most ire because he miscontrolled a couple of easy passes and gave the ball away, but Jenkinson spent half the night in a centre forward area having made a pointless underlapping run into Lolley's space and then not being arsed to get back to defend. He was also beaten with simple balls over the top time and time again. I was far more worried about our backup right back than our back up left last night, especially considering the right back has been here the full season and knows how we play.

For me, if people want to overreact based on one game then the overreaction should be towards Jenkinson who joins the Adomah list of expensive signing who's career looks like it's done, so sell at any cost.

We've got Richardson and Preston to call upon if necessary next season anyway.
