I'm concerned that our 4 point deduction will galvanise Everton more than it galvanises us. (And also that the PL will appeal and get it up to 6.)

Aren’t they supposed to get another deduction? So that’s 3x the galvanization, we’re screwed!

I still think the team is good enough to survive. And if we do, I reckon we can build on the quality we have by clever trading and stay in the top league.

But for the moment I think the midfield and sundry others are going to have to chip in with some goals. Just don't leave it to the usual suspects to miss the target.

Yeah - likely only to be 2 points though I reckon. I think we're unlikely to finish above them.

No one mentioning Burnley who have had a huge lift, winning at the weekend and us losing 4 points. Only 4 behind with us having to play them away, we've already played them at home twice and failed to win. They aren't out of it yet!

I really hope their fate is sealed but the time we visit. Can't see them getting much out of Chelsea after the break but then Wolves/Everton/Brighton/Sheff Utd. You'd fancy them to grab a few points there.

At half time at Bournemouth, there was a worst case scenario which had Forest losing to Luton and being given a 6 points penalty resulting in them being 9 points behind them.

As it happens it is only 1, deeply disappointing that dropping 2 points late on was we have to look at the positives.

Ultimately these professionals (players and coaches) should have the confidence in their ability and just as importantly the temperament to be able to come out of this and survive.

I am surprised how much the uncertainty can affect the performances as everyone seems to suddenly be saying. Hope it is true and we get back to the Newcastle/Man U levels quickly.

Maybe be need a new form metric for teams, PPGWUPSRB (Points Per Game Whilst Under PSR Breach)

I did say we could finish below Burnley a bit ago.
I was told that was nonsense!

I’m hoping we are brave and get back on the front foot. I thought we were looking pretty good until a few games ago. I think our form dip coincided with the Tavares injury. Oh, and get CHO back in the side.
Fair shout on Tavares, things looked sweet for a time with him marauding down the left side providing a foil for CHO.

Surprising that plan B has been so negative, given Nuno seemed to present as a front foot manager. Id start by dropping the origi over CHO experiment, its not working.

One thing i feel positive about is how under Nuno i feel like we're going to compete in every single game. Tottenham away and Man City at home are no longer complete throwaways, sure we might lose but we'll not get smashed. The only game that i felt was an outlier to this was Villa away.

One thing i feel negative about is the sneaky suspicion that we have no fit strikers (barring the Kid) for the forseeable. My inner armchair physiotherapist is telling me that Big T is wrecked and Woodie coming off with a similar looking injury to what he had this time last season. Obviously i hope i'm wrong but if that is the case, combined with our set piece roadshow continuing, i don't even want to finish the sentence.

I agree with the Origi / CHO statement, however things would look a little rosier if Burke hadn't made that excellent goal line clearance on Saturday. To be fair to Origi he didn't do too much wrong.

Our midfield needs to contribute more goals, and assists. We don't have any of them getting near 5 goals let alone double figures, do we? Yates has never scored in the PL, ditto Sangare. And it's not like Danilo and Dominguez trouble the oppo keepers too frequently either. Plus MGW is hardly a goal machine.

In defence of them perhaps you could argue that the 4-2-1-3 formation does rather mean that it's the front four who should score the vast majority. So it's CHO (or Origi), MGW and Elanga who should be in our sights.

We can see why the likes of O’Neill,Bowyer,Webb and Hodge were so useful to
us in the past.
Midfielders who can score on a regular basis are like gold dust.

I was thinking along those lines too. Add Scot Gemmill to the list as well. It was a huge reason why Cloughie wanted Gary McAllister to replace Neil Webb as well.

I think that sometimes our mood about how we will fare varies week to week - and not always in a way that can be explained.

I felt at my lowest after the Brighton game (more to do with performance than result).

Yet, despite that, since then we have thrown away a lead to Luton and have been docked points. However, I strangely feel more confident now than after that Brighton game.

I'm keeping the faith that we'll most certainly survive. Until tomorrow at least.

I’m confident about this season - much less so about next..
I agree-IF we are fortunate enough to survive this season next year looks way harder to me,
especially given our financial considerations and the reality that a top star (probably MGW
or Murillo) may have to depart.
The competition at the bottom looks like being considerably fiercer too.

I haven't enjoyed much of this premier league experience I must say. I'm 49, so I remember a lot of our latter success under Cloughie, and was dying for us to get back into the top flight. But the whole experience has been pretty miserable, I'm nervous before and during every match. I can't remember a single game these past two seasons we've won well and comfortably, possibly the recent West Ham at home, and even then we only scored the second late on.
This latest points deduction is just another kick in the balls. What I would love it to do is galvanise us all, players, fans, coaches, manager, any club staff. Let's really go for it these last 9 games, stay up and let that set the tone moving forward.

Me neither, admittedly I’m just a radio listener these days but it’s been a bit joyless on the whole. Quite stressful at times.
But I want it to work for the younger fans, I really do.
We’ve got a great fanbase and they deserve some success, even if that is only measured by being a Prem team for a while.

A relegation dogfight can be exciting and we’ve got the quality to succeed.

Thomas mentioned the thought of the updated Waka Waka at Turf Moor yesterday and that for me is whats making me feel like it'll all be worthwhile.
