Fair play to Cheltenham. A truly horrendous start to their League One campaign, they have somehow rallied and take their relegation battle all the way to the last match of the season. Between them, Burton, and Cambridge.

Cause that really works when preparing for the play-offs.

That aside, it is still impressive given that Cheltenham, who had only scaored once in their first 13 matches, to even be where they are

Yes, they’ve done well in the circumstances to take their season this far. I go to see them from time to time and saw them get their first win in the autumn against Cambridge and another one a few months ago against Port Vale (when Alex Mighten came on as a sub for PV and did nothing to suggest he should’ve started).

It’d be quite some achievement if results on the last day kept them up, but if they manage it I hope it’ll be at Cambridge’s expense, as I have a soft spot for Burton since their chairman Ben Robinson was kind enough to make me his guest for the day when I joined Ian Storey-Moore there for a book signing in October.

Worked for Huddersfield in 2016/17. Pretty much rested their whole 1st XI for the last 3 games and went up via the playoffs. I remember them getting dicked by Birmingham who were fighting us for survival at the time.

Well, Donny Rovers need a point to qualify for the playoffs, after going on a run of 10 consecutive wins (IIRC, they've got something daft like 13 wins in the last 15).
This post isn't actually about that, but, gives me a chance to share this from BBC Radio Sheffield, which, shows what football means to some.

That's a genuinely heartwarming clip Donny. Thanks for posting it.

Just had a peek at the L1 playoffs between Bolton and Barnsley. The reason I mention it is I've just noticed the Bolton ground, which was the Reebock when I went on my last visit, is now the Toughsheet Community Stadium. Well, it made me smile anyway.

I think it was the Macron Stadium when I last visited, though I remember it being the Reebok and that’s the name that has always stuck in my head. Easily one of the nicer mid-sized new builds from that era (along with Huddersfield’s place), but its latest name is quite funny.

I think Bolton are on their way to Wembley.

Shout out to Sky Sports presenter Michelle Owen, who is pregnant with her second child. She has been suffering with a rare and severe pregnancy condition called hyperemesis gravidarum which she also had during her first pregnancy. Michelle has spent several weeks in hospital battling the condition (at one stage she was being sick every 20 minutes!). I believe that this is why the Sky Sports coverage is being respectful to Michelle's condition with no close-ups.

Good luck to Michelle who I find one of the better and more knowledgeable presenters.
