f*** Spurs, I'd rather take another 4 point hit then sell to those *****.

I'm sick of hearing about "he's an Ang type player" like he's some sort of visionary when in reality he's achieved f*** all of note outside of Scotland and even then less than Neil f***ing Lennon. Even Gerrard managed to win the scottish premier league and he was and still is a dogshit manager.
I've been saying this all season, he's f**ked about in colossal football nations such as Japan & Australia and won a 2 horse race in a 3rd rate league, yeah he plays some nice football & got something called 'Angeball' but f*** me the adulation is completely over the top

I like Ang as a manager and also as a person - talks straight forward and honestly - A bit of an inferior modern day Aussie version of the great one.
He has also made Spurs better to watch - although no closer to winning anything.

What really p*sses me off about Spurs is how all the pundits/media and even the club themselves think they are a big club.
They last won the league - the year I was born - 1961 - 63 f*cking years ago. I reckon I have a good 20 years left - I wonder what odds I would get of them never winning the league in my lifetime.
Now thats exactly why I've always hated them.

Whilst we were playing the best football in the country with a spectacularly young team under the great man the gutter press focused on scum like Spurs and Scousepool. It was like we didn't exist despite being a much better team.

If rumours continue he might not even be here by the time it takes place in 2025. Personally I think he needs at least another season with us where he continues to play regular and form can flourish.

Would seem sensible for him personally to stay and get games and prove he's a top 6 level player. Going to Spurs now could just get him stuck on the bench and lose the momentum.

I keep seeing Gil mentioned in threads, I don't know much about the guy but from the little I've seen he doesn't seem very good at all, admittedly small sample size.

What are his strengths, and is he decent?

So he's one of those where he passes the eye test, in that he has all of the required attributes, as well as being aggressive for a winger, but has yet to consistently put it together for anyone - went to spurs at 20/21 I think and fair to say he hasn't got/earned the game time, though got plenty minutes out on loan (Villarreal I think) with a bit to show for it, without setting the world alight.

He looked very lively against us the other year which is why I've kept half an eye on his career. For me he's definitely worth the gamble as competition at the right price - I think there's a player in there. Also, looks a bit like a young Stallone with a dishbowl - what's not to like about that?

Think Reyna.

It's all there, you can see he's got all the pieces but he very rarely puts it all together. He could be something but there's always a different link that seems to be broken each time.

While that's probably fair he was very young when he went to Spurs - at the right club with the right manager he could do well.

One other thing to add is that Nuno will have seen plenty of him to know if he's worth a punt.

I'm not against that thinking GP. We've seen it so many times and we've been the recent beneficiaries of it ourselves with the likes of CHO and Elanga. We probably need more thinking like that in terms of our recruitment strategy to buy in cheaper young players that we can get a tune out of and turn around for profit.

There's loads of them out there and I know it's not exactly the same and I'm not for one second suggesting him (price prohibitive for a start) but you look at Rashford and he clearly needs a fresh start and to get away from Manchester and its distractions.

I think Rashford will benefit a change of manager - don't think he likes Ten Hag at all. See also Sancho!

Agree on the rest - low risk, high reward in non key positions (IE assuming we have quality there already) seems a good way to operate.

Incidentally, the other one I keep an eye out from around that time is Carlos Alcarez - he'll cost more but wouldn't be surprised to see us ask, though with Southampton promoted that might no longer be an option. Interesting to see how he does though...

Sancho was absolutely bubbling come the end of the season at Dortmund; he looked back to his absolute best (which, let us not forget, is a bloody good footballer).

So much so, Dortmund would like to make the deal permanent, but the money Utd would want might mean that can’t be done.

It’s a pity, because Utd have happily ruined a number of England’s better players of late.

AFCON 2025 is due to take place in July and August.
So, probably not as big of a problem.
The last one was suppossed to take place in the summer as well - but it was moved to Jan-Feb because of the rainy season

Where is he from Portugal? Spain?
