Evangelos Marinakis Megathread!

Gyros Peter

Sauce salad?
Anybody see and hear that truck that was driving about slagging him off, pre game.... also a twitter page and website calling him a drug dealer, this will not end well.

Jeez, that's just what we don't need.

It's quite bizarre. They have a website too. Rehashing all the various EM stories but never completing them with the 'found not guilty' etc.

The domain was only registered in November this year, and the owner of the domain has specifically requested their contact info be hidden from a public WHOIS search (which typically denotes an individual, rather than a company).

But as posted above, the site is heavy on accusations, and light on the rebuttal (or outright refinement) of several of those accusations.

Someone has gone to some effort here to do a bit of character assassination without much more than gossip and innuendo.

Everyone knows Steve Cooper covered Wonderwall after the promotion season but what you don't know is this is his cover of Examples 'Won't go quietly'.

„B“ side, a cover of the O-Jays „Back Stabbers“.

One of his Greek rivals?
One of the only two verified followers of their Twitter account is the owner of Panathinaikos, and the whole style of their 'journalism' (not to mention their content) is spectacularly similar to the style of a sports site that the same owner has set up a decade ago; the site is owned by the owner of PAOK (as I've mentioned more than once, the less you know about Greek football the better).

I imagine the owners of both clubs don't enjoy the increased profile/legitimacy and success EM has seen over the last couple of years via Forest.

No, I don't think they care about what's going on in British football. Their animosity (which transcends football, or even politics) is purely local.

I was at the Aberdeen (my Scottish team) v PAOK Conference League game a few weeks back. I could tell they didn’t have much love for Olympiakos, thankfully I didn’t wear a Forest top that day….thought it wouldn’t end well.

Nottingham Forest owner, Evangelos Marinakis, on the clubs win over Manchester United today:

“What an amazing team spirit, strength and passion tonight. A truly incredible atmosphere at the City Ground from our great fans! “Congratulations to Nuno, to all the technical team, and the players for their great performance and well deserved victory.

“Wishing everyone a happy new year with Health, Love, and Happiness. We continue to write history together, the best is yet to come!

”Strong words from the owner #NFFC

Have to say it's already looking like a masterstroke by EM to appoint Nuno, not sure about the others but personally speaking it was looking rather bleak near the end of Cooper's tenure. Couldn't see where the next win was going to come from.

It was a sensible appointment all things considered and the change is already palpable.

Was he in attendance in the last 2 home games?
